I notice people saying buy grass fed steaks, but if you dont have any of that in your grocery stores is there really aomething wrong with grain fed? What are the advantages that grass fed beef has over regular grain fed cows?

Cows get fatter on grain at the end before being slaughted but a lifetime of grain is no bueno! Check out this link: http://www.ext.colostate.edu/pubs/livestk/01614.html
Go rent the movie "Foood, Inc". It might make you re-think what you eat
Saturated fat content is lower in grass fed. But if ur buying lean cuts and if using ground beef u drain and rinse the meat w/ hot water the difference is negligible. The most important thing is to eat bro. A wise man put it real simple. Tread said no eat no big! A huge bro Perses says do whatever u have have to to get ur food in... Once u have ur diet down and ur used to eating like a BB then u fine tune ur fats, sodium, and carb intake. Imo
AnonThe flavor is significantly different. As much as I agree with the concept of grass fed, I prefer the taste of corn fed
The main reason why people prefer grass fed any thing opposed to grain fed, is due to the amount of the significant difference in the amount of saturated fat. I stay away from grain fed red meat if I can help it, if you do some research you can find grass fed red meat for a decent price, that is not sold as organic at all so you are not paying a premium. They still can pump grass fed animals full of hormones and all kinds of shit.
Anonthe idea is to get foods with the greatest nutritional value. organically grown cattle is supposed to mean that they have been fed no genetically modified foods, anything containing pesticides, and/or have not been injected with any hormones. it is to give the most natural and purest nutritional value from the meat.
personally, i'm not spending the money on organically grown beef. pesticides don't bother me on my produce either - nothing a lil water can't take care of. and hormones... i aint scared of those either...
for me, i'm mostly concerned with the quality of the cut. nice lean cut with a bit of marbling makes for a NICE steak.
It's nothing huge nutritional wise. There are minor micro nutrient advantages form grass fed, and grass fed tends to be leaner.
The main difference is the cows are typically healthier and fed no chemicals. The only thing I enjoy about grass fed is it tastes much better imo. Nothing terribly wrong about grain fed though.
