Milk
I must have asked this question like three times and I'm pretty sure every time people tell me to just drop it out of my diet, but can I keep milk in my diet while I try and cut?
I'm not cutting right now, actually just the opposite, but before I injured myself my size was starting to get in the way of my archery technique, agility, flexibility, and other things size does to you and I considered cutting.
I'm thinking it'll take another 6 months before I consider cutting again, but I have to ask. Is milk going to screw me over when I start cutting?
I can completely cut sugar out of my diet with the exception of milk. I've drank it since the day I was born and I just can't stop. I love practically everything about it.
Anyway are the simple carbohydrates from lactose going to screw me over? Should I just man up and put down the bottle?

Just drink it postworkout bro, I know that I can get pretty lean and still keep simple sugars post workout. Depends on how lean u want to get, to hit low single digits I have to cut sugars totally.
Supernova283I've already cut out all simple sugars except milk and a little cheese out of my diet.
I'm bulking, but as long as I have gone around 2 or 3 weeks without sugar I honestly hardly miss it. Pretty easy for me to cut out all my sugars except milk.
That stuff is my crack.
Hey brother I feel your pain. I too have a terrible time pulling away from the tit. As a wrestler I'm not a stranger to cutting weight. Ive done it my whole life, and guess what? It's pretty tough to make the cuts with milk. Just don't buy any. If you buy any buy a small jug of skim for rare cheats cut the milk intakes own to a half gallon per week.. But keep it out of sight out of mind. After a while you'll get used to the water. Take a few tums each day to feed your calcium addiction, and remember being cut feels a hell of a lot better than milk tastes.
Supernova283dsjkalfsajl;
Half gallon a week! I drink more than that in a day!
sigh maybe I'll just never cut. It's not like I was all that fat when I was considering cutting. I just thought it'd be nice to lose a little to show more definition.
Also nice to see a fellow wrestler out there. I did wrestling for a while prehighschool and wanted to follow it into highschool, but as a freshmen I was a little over 75lbs and the lowest weight class was 103. Still tried out, but got lateral dropped 6 times.
Needless to say I didn't go back to tryouts the next day.
Shit I didn't break 103 till I was a senior and even then I was only 108 when I graduated. Oh well at least I was a bad ass cox'n.

Cow milk does not fully digest in humans. If you look at any other living species, they all drink milk from within their species, calf drink cow milk, piglets drink pig milk...
I'd say if want milk, drink breast milk
Supernova283I tried man, but you need a prescription for that stuff.
Seriously.
Also I don't know about not being fully digestible. I drink almost a gallon a day and I've never had any gastrointestinal issues outside of the normal blip every now and then.
Might be worth trying almond milk.
It contains no cholesterol or lactose.
Supernova283Hey thanks bro. I'll definitely check it out.
Milk is for babies, your not a baby anymore put that bottle down. On a bulk I'd say you can get away with it cause of the extra cals but on a cut no, you have to ask yourself how bad do you want it?
Supernova283Well I mean it's not like I'm going for totally shredded or anything. I probably don't want it bad enough to stop drinking milk entirely. I'll probably just drink like 3 or 4 cups instead of like 3/4 of a gallon a day.
Milk is pretty much the base of my diet. 3 cups in every shake twice a day and 2 cups with every meal.
I drink almost an entire gallon a day. It's like a drug. Really hard to quit. Who says I'm not a baby? I only weigh 125. That's like half the weight of the average weight on this site.
Lmao! That's it I'm never drinking milk again:-) hahahahaha no ur right on a cut every single calorie must be beneficial and help get u towards ur goal. If it ain't part of the solution it's part of the problem
Now here is a man who will reach his goals, got to make sacrifices to get what you want.
It's all in your portions, Mate.
I mean, if you're going to be constantly gluging the white stuff down like a new born calf on its mothers udder then of course it's going to make things difficult for you.
Whenever I'm on a bulking cycle, like I am now, I'll always use milk instead of water in my Whey protein drinks, simply because I want those extra calories and nutrients that milk provides. (I'll also use my slendertone ab zapper belt three times a day instead of two to help combat the obvious increased fat intake that ALWAYS seems to hang around the waist line on me).
But when I'm not bulking and I'm simply sticking to a good diet, I MAY have a glass or two a week, simply because I like the stuff.
I just don't go wild with it.
Just my opinion. Hope this helps, Mate.
Supernova283Yeah. Like I said I knew the answer before I posted. I just really really like the stuff (6 gallons a week) and was hoping to see justification.
Guess I'm going to have to go through a bit of withdrawal.
Really has helped me get the extra calories in with the bulk though. I'm a super hard gainer and if I don't eat I lose fat and muscle at an insane rate. Sucks because when I try cutting I'll still have to eat a fair amount just to keep my muscles from going catabolic.
6 Gallons a week?
You must pee the stuff out, Mate LOL.
But I do appreciate the goodness of the white amber-nectar. (Even Cleopatra bathed in the stuff).
In regards to making gains, I feel your anguish. IF I walk past food without eating at least a part of it, my body seems to punish me by dropping a few pounds. I have to maintain a minimum of 3000 calories a day, JUST to maintain what I've gained.
Sucks to be us, at times, Mate.
Supernova283Yeah I feel ya man. If I eat anything less than 2500 I start shedding off the pounds.
Now 2500 might be low to many of you, but being 5'5 eating 2500 calories a day is pretty filling. I eat around 3000 to gain, but damn is it hard.
I feel your pain, albeit on a smaller scale.
Right now I'm consuming approx 5000-5500 calories, but that's because I'm on a bulking cycle, from which I'm gaining a good 1-2 lbs a week. But as I said earlier, I NEED 3000 quality calories a day just to maintain.
Eating, for some, is the easiest part of bodybuilding. But for us Ectomorphs, it has to be the hardest part of our lifestyle. I'll happily push my body to the limits of ANY of my workouts. But outside of the gym walls? That's a whole different DAILY battle.
I know it's not what you're gonna want to hear, AGAIN, (Because it used to p**s me off no end when I used to hear it), but it just takes time. Take it easy on yourself. And THAT day WILL come when you look in the mirror and see it IS worth the input and you ARE winning the war, Mate.
Supernova283Yeah thanks. I appreciate it.
Very well said sir;-)
Thank you, Mate.
