I'll let you all know when it's done -- It's an NPC Open, Master's Division (Regional). There are 55-year olds I'm going up against that look insanely good, if I can just place top 5 I'll be ecstatic.
Thanks friend - It really can be done at any age. Constant study and self evaluation, willingness to try different training routines, eating clean, rest, and consistency have been the keys to my transformation - Had I only known when I was 20 what I know now :-)
Hellz yeah, brother. Good luck in your comp/s! Brother, if you love it. Do it until you keel over on stage! No, not from thermo's & lack of carbs, etc. From a heart attack. Seriously. Good work
Hey, much appreciated Sarn't -- From a former E-5 turned 90-day wunderkind 0-1 at OCS, ETS'd in '07 as an 0-5 with 16 years active duty, 4 years TPU, and 4 years AGR time in the Reserve...would have been more like 12 years active duty were it not for freaking deployments. Those four TPU years were the ones that let me sit on my ass and put on 80lb of lard :-)
Positive comments are nice, but from a fellow vet even more appreciated. We talked briefly in another thread about the sandbox and the 'Stan, don't know if you remember. Hope you're done with active service now, bro -- My boy is serving in 1/24 Infantry at Lewis now, deploying for the first time as an E-2 in a couple of months, and Sons being Sons, won't listen to a damn thing I tell him :-)
Hang those trunks up when u ready fuck it, i see some progress my man ...but i also see u dropped your junk on your sink for us...no homo over here lmao
Got it in time, I reckon, thanks to boots no one else will have to suffer through that vison. Thanks bro, I appreciate the heads up, even forgive you for making me laugh like a damn hyena :-)
You really oughtn't to make a brother laugh like that the night before leg day boots...that was some funny s***. That's a pic in a hotel room on the way back from a trip where all I could do was pushups, situps, dips, and pullups for two freaking weeks. I never noticed the junk on the sink until now dammit -- And I might have torn an ab or two laughing :-)
Damn, let me see if I can delete that one. Boondocks forever!
Pretty simple really -- I grill for most of every Sunday, and prepare a main course that I try to keep at 300-400 calories, 15-20g protein, then separate containers of a green vegetable, a complex carbohydrate @ about 25 grams (those are the LITTLE tupperware containers), and supplement with Omega 3's (primarily Flax seed oil) and 595mg Potassium Glutamate (one tab nightly), along with, of course, L-Glutamine in a 40g post workout shake on training days, and whatever the least expensive name brand NO tablets I can find are, immediately pre-workout on training days, and first thing in the morning on non-training days. I try to eat three real meals per day, and use the 20g protein sized Muscle Milk for the other two. So, about 2200 calories a day on workout days, with 50-80 grams carbs and 150g protein, and 2000 calories a day on my two non-training (but extra cardio) days, with 30g or fewer carbs. I used to eat roughly 30% more in all respects at this point of pre-contest dieting, but at my age, this diet suits my needs of maintaining the muscle I've gained, while slowly but surely dropping fat.
I know that sounds like I'm starving, but trust me - My trainer and I have fiddled with this diet for two years now, and as a result I'm no longer a 316lb deskbound lard ass, but damn near competition shape again -- I've lost <> 80 pounds in 2 years, while adding size to my pecs, arms, back, thighs, delts, and traps.
Wow you are doing phenomenal keep it up!!! what show are u doing btw?

You're doing great, bro. I hope to get where you are one day. It's nice to see it can be done at any age.

Just curious, what's your diet currently?

I feel you. Doing (maybe doing ) my first show ever at 38. The diet is intense and new to me.
Good luck!
