BOILED TAP WATER IN MY 100ml BOTTLE OF TEST
Hey guys.. basically, to cut a long story short, i got water into my 100ml bottle sent by ARL. i was attempting to uncrystallise the gear by placing the bottle in a bowl with boiling water.. but little did i know that it was just a screw on top for the lid and because i kept shaking and pouring boiled water over it, some boiled water actually managed to leak its way into my bottle.
now it has water bubbles which sink to the bottom of the bottle. i have yet to transfer the gear into vials with a syringe filter and bake it for 30 mins at 270 degrees but i was wondering if anyone had any bright ideas to get the damn water out of there.. will it evaporate if i bake the gear after its been filtered, IF i put a needle to vent the gear while its baking?
please help guys.. admins.. experienced gear users.. this is URGENT!

the clear vial of yesterday also become cloudy today. haha. i know they are both sterile atm. so any thoughts on lightly heating til clear and then injecting? i haven't pinned any yet.. just want some advice. i know everyone is saying to trash it.. but i spent a good hour filtering it thru the 0.2 what man and I'm quite sure the only thing that would make it cloudy is the moisture..

Yup, this would be a major pitfall of the big bottles,...................personally I have a trial order going for 10 @ 5ml vials, if I had to toss 1 vial @ 5ml I would NOT feel near as much pain. Sorry for your loss.

ok now i need some advice. i filtered the test when i took it out of the oven. it was clear and hot while i was filtering and it flowed right through. however, as i was filtering, the remainder of the 100ml that was still in the bottle had cooled and crashed again. i drew the solution and filtered it cloudy into a separate vial. This time however, the test i filtered cloudy turned clear after filtering. so I'm stuck with one vial of cloudy test and one vial of clear test. is it possible that i had filtered out the test that had crashed in the cloudy test? =( this means i might just have empty oil in my clear vial is this right?

alright guys.. I've come to the point where i was about to start doing what frankie said below but my gear has now crashed cloudy. i heated it in the oven and it was clear again but after letting it cool it became cloudy again. what should i do?? =S no crystals at this point. just cloudy gear. i heard it was moisture.. damn.. i think my gear is gone. is there any way out of this frankie or anyone else?
Frankiehere is what i would do
1- chuck it in the trash :-)
but if you dont want to do that here is what you should do
if its still crashed with cyristals in it
heat it with dry heat not warter ,take the lid off it and run a blow dryer over the bottle untill all the hormone has melted
pour it all into a clear beaker/glass
let it sit untill all the warter bubbles have droped to the bottom
carefully start to draw the gear up into your syringe ( drawing from just under the serface of the top so you well away from any warter at the bottom) and filter via a 0.2 whatman into your sterile vials
when you are near the bottom of the vail and likley to draw warter bubbles into the syringe just chuck the reminder of it away ...you going to take a loss but how much will depend on how carefull you are with the drawing process ..

Anonshouldn't the water sink to the bottom and then you can decant the top? Then reheat to kill bacteria.
that is sorta right.. I was planning to do this haha.. draw form the top and maybe get around 95 of the 100mls out and filter it with a 0.2 what man in a sterile vial then bake it =) thats honestly the only thing i can think of atm but i need someone to confirm for me.. I'm getting sterile filters and vials by next week so i can wait this out a little bit before frankie gets in to help me out.. unless he calls it quits too for the gear. then i guess ill just trash it.. pretty sad aye.. was gna start my cycle too lol..
AnonI do not think its wasted. I think you should move your heat time to at least 45 minutes after preheat and use a real thermometer not the ovens gauge. Do not preheat vile. put pin in vile while heating and I think 250 degrees is hot enough. Now I dont know what is in vile and do not know if it will stand up to that heat. you saying you need to filter it. Did trash get in it or just clean water?
yeah I'm hoping it can be saved too.. just filtering because it removes all the bacteria that could have been present in the tap water. i have looked the filter up.. and 0.2 microns is just about enough to remove pretty much anything but apparently its a hell of a struggle to pump the oil thru haha. however, if this can be the solution then I'm willing to do this. i have filters on the way.. and 50ml vials to separate the fluid in =) nothing got in it.. just water.

throw it away..aint worth it, bacteria and other nasty stuff when u handle something that goes into your body..to many things to go wrong.
