+ 2 Torn Pec/Bicep?
im so bummed out you guys don't even know...15 years of powerlifting and I finally got injured, but it wasn't in the gym. I do security and we had to throw out a drunk asshole. when we went to the ground I heard and felt a loud pop. I thought I broke his neck no kidding, by the time we reached the door I realized it was me that popped. I am very swollen in the upper bi/shoulder and right pec. I went to the er and they took an xray and said no breaks. they gave me a sling and said I probably tore my pec. last night I iced but bruising and swelling increased. I can barely move it without heavy pain. hard to even hold a fork to eat. I don't have insurance and don't know if my job will cover this under workers comp. please any advice help brothers would be appreciated, I feel so depressed I cant go to the gym (my life) or work....

LaTTTimer99Here you go man read this - I've had 8 surgeries and this same one 2 years ago - same shit dude popped super loud and my entire bicep shot up to my shoulder lol

LaTTTimer99Shit man the ER Doctor is a fucking idiot. I've had this same bicep tendon rupture. You may only have a partial tear, but those can actually be worse. Dude accept my FR ASAP!
I hate this bullshit - the first thing they should've done is an MRI - with no Insurance they still should've referred you within 72 hours to an Ortho surgeon - get at me bro I've been through all of this - the longer you wait the worse it is to repair - because the scar tissue buildup - you want the surgery done quick-
With Obamacare now (did you apply yet?) - even without it - ***Say you need full strength for your job, and that you need to get it repaired - I'm going to post next a copy to a post I wrote on how to find the best surgeon - read it ok?
And accept my FR - wish I had have seen
This sooner. And ps I bounced all through college and used to work the stage for shows, plus protect escorts & strippers on house calls. I been through some shit too buddy lol
Damn brother, it really saddened me to read this. So sorry for your misfortune. Sending thoughts and prayers your way for a speedy recovery. Please keep us updated.
Sorry to hear it bro! Quick recovery!'n
thanks Gorilla...not to be a pussy but man behind closed doors the emotion is really hitting me hard,i feel in a dark place....the gym means so much to me...in some ways I feel God used it to save my life... im obsessing about getting better and im two days into this injury
Same here man. I've been hurt to many times. I've lost between 24-30 months of gym time in the past from previous injuries. Looks like I'll be ordering some GH on the double to move mine along.
It's prob a partial tear I've done it to both my pecs and looked same as urs as for recovery not much dr can do but rest and ice! It took bout a year fer mine to heal up! Just don't do any chest movements for month or 2 then start back with pec dec no weight! It will get better just takes long time! As far as gym I'd clean my diet up and do legs , calves , cardio and abs still focus on gym just kean out alittle to get ur gym fix once ur able to! Hope advice helps
thanks brother....what do you think of tb500?
What a bitch, getting injured dealing with a drunken prick. You'll have to do what I'm doing at the moment- 3 leg workouts / week (just had shoulder surgery). It's better than no gym at all
Wishing you a speedy recovery mate.
thanks brother....feel like I wanna just crawl under a rock
Yep, know how you feel. I've felt like I've been missing a huge part of my life the last 6 weeks, but it does get better. Don't let it get you down, don't stress about stuff you can't change.
Re tb500, I'm using it alongside hgh to aid my recovery. Seems to be giving me some assistance, I'm ahead of the recovery curve at the moment.
You got injured at work bro, if they don't wanna pay for it I would get a lawyer and make them pay because surgery like this is not cheap at all.
I tore my pec a while back and the most important thing right now is complete rest and as little movement as possible. Anything that gets your heart rate up will increase blood flow and increase the internal bleeding and swelling.
Looks like a partial pec tear where pec connects to humerus. I had the same thing happen to me
what did you do to fix it bro?
Opted not to do surgery, nothing for a couple months except barbell on bench, and after 3 months started light dumbells and worked my way up. Definitely a noticeable indention when I flex my pec. Its been about 7 months now and I'm back to lifting about 80% of weight on bench. Youngtricept another member on here had surgery and it went pretty well for him, so maybe you can friend request him and get his input.
waltrIt should be covered under workers comp, if they give you the run around get a lawyer. Actually I'd get a lawyer anyway just to cfover my bases. Lawyers who do workers comp cases take the cases on the basis that if you don't get paid, they don't get paid, so he'll get you some money out of it.
Hope you have a speedy recovery though, that sucks and looks like it hurts like a mofo.
edit
I actually hurt my back on the job many years back now and I had to go to the ER because I could barely move. I contacted a lawyer and he got me set-up with a rehabilitation doctor locally and I went through the whole process of rehabing it back to good health. During the process he got me set up where I received workers compensation paychecks weekly as well as a $25,000 settlement sum after 4 months of receiving workers comp. I was basically unable to work for the greater part of an entire year though. It kind of sucked =/
that's solid advice I will explore that option brother thanks
If you tore your pec it looks like you did it in the better of the two ways. Looks like you popped it off where it wraps and connects into your shoulder/big area. The other way to tear it is in the actual muscle belly. However if it did pop off at the connection that won't heal over and scar on it's own. It's something you need to get fixed.
thanks TED ...surgery?
yea i had surgery on mine about 6 weeks ago. mine was a tear in the muscle belly which is the less common injury. but if the tendon detached its not something thatll fix itself
are you 100% yet? tb500? hgh?
I was goin to run tb500 and gh but didn't. I wouldn't say 100%. Still can't do any pull downs or chest or shoulders except laterals
