+ 8 Ruptured patellar tendon
The first picture IS NOT CURRENT, it’s from about 6 months before I ruptured my patellar in my right knee. It happened September 2019, surgery September 11, 2019.
I was training, jumped up to grab a pipe to do pull-ups on, missed, came down on my right leg stiff legged. My knee cap shot up about 4”, me not knowing anything about the knee I just thought I’ll push it back in place, didn’t work obviously.
I weighed about 195 when it happened, after physical therapy in December (2nd picture) I weighed 163. The muscle atrophy I endured was unbelievable. I’m a very active person and to spend 6 weeks in a brace, having to be helped to do a lot of things like shower, getting in and out of a car, it got to me. Dealt with depression, but in the end I put my big boy pants on and pushed forward.
The last two pictures are from yesterday, I’m up to 185#. I’ll never lift like I use to and that’s fine, I just want to heal as much as I can and live my life the best I can. I’ll be 50 in October and cannot get hurt like this again.
I could squat quite a bit before, in December when I was told I could lift carefully I could squat 60#, could only go half way down. I’m up to 225# and ass to grass. I don’t want to go any heavier.
Leg extensions was something they told me not to do at all, but in May I reached MMI and they said do whatever you want. I use to do leg extensions individually, I would do about 120# to 140# repping it out, today I can do 10#.

Thanks brother for stopping by.
Too bad about the injury, the physical condition is good.
I wonder if with this surgery everything will go back to the way it was before... it takes a long time brother. Don't put too much weight on your feet. +
No, I’ll never be the same, said I’d most likely never run again but I can and have. I’m good though, I’ll get most of my function back. Thanks brother
