+ 3 IGF-1 Baseline Level

ad

I went to get my natural IGF-1 level tested prior to starting GH but I'm left wondering if it's a legit test. The result caveat key stating it was "received outside stability time" as blood was taken on the 27th at 11am and received the following evening. So a couple of questions:

Can this skew my result? Have they potential messed up in how quickly it needs to be measured after drawing the blood?

If the level is accurate and I'm at 22.3nmol/L, would 2iu of gh be a replacement dose where I won't see much benefit from it?

The lab flagged it as "outside stability time" probably because their strict internal protocol wants quicker processing (common for some analytes), but for IGF-1 specifically, this short delay almost certainly didn't skew it low or high.
IGF-1 is one of the more stable analytes in blood/serum. Studies show it's stable in whole blood at room temperature for up to 7 days.
You're starting from a decent natural level not crushed, not sky-high.
2iu is a perfectly ok replacement dose.

thanks for the reassurance! I'm thinking I'll run 2iu on cruises going forward and 4-5iu on blasts.

I would get another igf-1 test after about 3 weeks on 2iu. Depending on how your body reacts to GH, it's possible it could put you lower than your baseline.

would that be a case of just doing the daily 2iu gh pre-bed then getting the test done around 11am the following day? or doing 2iu 2-3 hours before the test? thanks for letting me know

With igf-1, it shouldn't matter. I would just run it at night and get the test in the morning. That's what I do. Staying consistent in how you're testing is what matters most. I didn't like gh in the morning. It made me tired. When people take GH a few hours before a test, they're usually testing their GH level.
