Stocking up with more gear at awesome prices. Going to give their HgH a shot too. Good
Thanks again guys for fast service and TN.

The baby is our first goat of the year on our farm….with more to come soon. Thought I give you guys a treat. The mom rejected her, so the wife has a bottle baby now Lol
Not her first though…..she’s already attached and her name is Elsa.

Ordered from:

How could mom reject cute thing like that. Will she pay attention to her once she gets older and back in the pen with the others.

Mac12769's picture

I know, sucks when it happens. And usually it was for reason. This is one was weak at birth and never would’ve made it had we not intervened. And without that initial bonding, plus the rejection, once we introduce her back in, the mom will see her as complete stranger that we will work back into that “herd”. She’ll be ok after that. Just part of the herd. But no mom/kid bond like the other we have.

That is just the way nature works. Tough to be an animal. Hopefully she won't get picked on. Is she a runt?

Mac12769's picture

Nature takes no sides. The wife still has a hard time getting that. Single kid. Not really a runt. Looks almost identical to mom when she was born. Mom was a bottle baby too. She’ll be fine once we introduce her a couple more into the pens.

Just like Humans mate - Bad parents learn from bad parents.

That is tiny. How heavy when full grown?

Mac12769's picture

So she’s a Nigerian Dwarf breed, which will make her small. But she also has some Pygmy in there too. So really small. She’ll get maybe 30-40 lb. Max if that. I have larger breeds as well. These are the “fun” ones lol. Lots of energy.

So does she Baahaaaha in the house yet?

Mac12769's picture

Lol Almost like having a baby again. She sleeps through night now, but was up and crying every 4 hours first couple days for food. Wife was looking a little stressed and ragged lol……she hasn’t had one in couple years. But lots of fun through day jumping around.

HAHAhahah You are good guys mate, lucky to have you two.

Goats, donkeys, pigs, I never know what to expect when I come home. Now she wants a lizard of all things.

press1's picture

Why not just catch a few snakes from outside then stick them in a tank and say you bought them?! LOL

Mac12769's picture

I can find those outside my home anytime, just not always the good ones……

Do you have venomous ones like rattlesnakes?

Mac12769's picture

My part we have various rattlesnakes, copperheads, cottonmouths, and the rare coral. Only domestic poisonous to the area. All others are non.
I keep a snake bag and rod in my truck

Now the Copperheads and Cottonmouths I do know of, I use to watch those snake videos on youtube of them devouring mice and those are some evil M'fckers!! Use to find it interesting the various ways each of the different venoms worked. Wouldn't get me near one though - scared shitless of snakes.

Gym and Bikes_bro's picture

I hope you won't let her get too close to your gear, so she couldn't accidentaly become a huge puffy Goatzilla!

Mac12769's picture

I’ve thought about it on one my stud goats. Lol

Hoofs like horses. Not really sharp teeth. Grazing animals.

Now of course I don’t know jack about goats or farming and raising them but isn’t this an odd time for them to be having babies or they like humans and just bang year round lol

Mac12769's picture

Gestation is about 5 months. But it’s hard to control when they go into heat and are actually bred. Winter time can be bad, but summer has its own issues as well. It’s not too hard to tell when they are about to pop, just have to prepare a little.

So do you notice a definite difference then if the animal has been human fed as a baby as opposed to being raised by its own mother in terms of how it responds to you in the fields and how tame it is, or is it a case of the goat is either friendly towards humans or it isn't no matter how it is brought up?

Mac12769's picture

That’s a tricky answer. When they are bottle babies, they are guaranteed friendly, as they are pack animals. They will bond to the person that feds them and seek that person out whenever you go into that pen. But when they are raised by mom, it depends on the individual animal and the amount of daily human contact they get and how much mom got. Some are VERY used to me and follow me and even come on command. But a few, just don’t care to be messed with. They tolerate human contact, but don’t really care for it. For the most part, whatever pen I go into, they want to see me and get scratched all over Lol

Ahhhh She is sooo fuckin cute mate!!!! Gotta be the best pictures yet Preved

That must be pretty cool having a little goat running around the house, where does she sleep?

Mac12769's picture

We actually just use a baby crib. Works pretty well till they are just about old enough to jump out. Then they are close to being weaned and can go out with others.

Holy shit a sweater on a baby goat….if my wife saw that I can promise I’d come home one day to her having purchased a baby goat from somewhere and already have a full wardrobe for it.

ROFL We were at feed store yesterday and she carried her in. Some lady in the register line saw her and asked for our number right there. We sell them local as pets, show and FFA.

That things cute man, that sad why does the mom reject it?

Owes a Review × 1
Mac12769's picture

Just a nature thing. Usually bc something is wrong with it. In this case, it was multiple things. She was very weak and would not have been able to nurse properly. She was also stuck during delivery and had to be pulled manually. Additional stress and weakness. Now she gets another chance. So far, healthy and jumping around. Ironic since mom was a bottle baby herself…..

Oh I thought it was perfectly fine and mama was just like “nah I don’t like that one” lol
