Advise to cycle or not

ad

6'3" 35yo 231..I've been training naturally for 3 years..Started at 255 very high body fat 3 years ago and cut to 194 June 2011..I'm currently 231 and eating around 4200 cals a day...Unsure of bf%..I'm thinking of doing a 10 week test only cycle, and I see a lot of comments about people jumping on gear too early..Should I keep working naturally or would a cycle be ok, and if so what would be the best cycle?

cdf I'd wait till I got my body fat down. If your goal is just to get bigger then have at it but you will be disappointed. What I mean is that although you will grow some muscle you will put far more fat on your body than you already have. If you goal is more definition then you can accomplish that with diet and training and you will get far better results. You have to decide what you want as there is always a trade off. If you just want size looking at bf% levels your at now, you will have a higher bf% when you finish. jek555 even mentioned why but most guys don't listen to the why. ESTROGEN are more specificly ESTRADIOL. The more body fat the more that extra test will convert to ESTRADIOL which is counter productive. You might want to read this

Thanks for the rely..I will definitely cut the bf down then re-evaluate from there. I want to do this right the first time around and go from there.

Just because he looks better than people running gear here doesn't mean he should jump the gun too. There's more than one person here I just wonder if they're doing it for self esteem purposes, and if so they really need to cut the doses back.

Thanks for the comments! I can easily lose weight but my strength goes down with anything below 3000 cals. When I keep my intake up my strength increases and the visible body fat go's up as well.I stopped all cardio a year ago focusing on strength and size only. I do plan on cutting bf and starting a cycle in Feb...My diet consist of red meat, chicken, and beans most of the time and lots of milk and protien shakes to fill in the on the go times..I eat 5-6 times a day 2-3 hours apart, but my diet does need some work..

Not quite ready, reduce your calories. You need to cut down a bit and 4200 calories seems to much off cycle no matter your weight. I have a basal metabolic rate of 2800 calories, and I'm on cycle with 3800 calories and I am gaining muscle like a horse with minimum fat. I'm not sure if you do cardio or not, I NEVER have, but maybe it may help you. Especially if you want to keep calories that high. What is your macro ratio? what is your diet?

I'm only 22 but I've been gymming it since 16 and I don't even think I was ready but I just went for it. I'm at roughly 12% BF and I can see top abs. You do have a solid base but I'd work on compound lifts from what I can tell, including chest press, deadlifts, and squats. I'd also throw in barbell rows due to lack of back definition. Have you been following proper lift schedules and "shocking" your muscles? Two years is a hefty time ;)

You have a good base going! Cardio for 45 after weights. Should be able to have conversation if at right speed but sweat like crazy. Clean Diet and trim down. Christmas then a test only for 12 weeks. 500mg/week. Test e or cyp. add up the cc's and get one extra bottle incase ya drop one etc. Aromasin for ai 12.5mg/day for 14 weeks. Clomid 100...100...50..50 and Nolva 40...40...20..20. Add those up and purchase early so youre ready. Dont forget pins. 23 x 1.5 for glutes times 2 shots per week for 12 weeks. Plus a few extra for accidents. Its safer and easier when trimmed down. Less BP, edema, strokes etc.
