This is interesting. However, he didn't purchase anything illegal. He simply exchanged dollars for Bitcoin. The Silk Road case referenced in the article in which a guy received a 10 year jail sentence involved the direct purchase of an illegal substance (heroin) using Bitcoin. So using Bitcoin as a medium of exchange to purchase AAS would prolly land you in hot water if you got caught, irrespective of whether its considered a legitimate currency or not. That's my take.
Ha! That's awesome
bigmurphI don't know how you found this but I didn't know anything about this and its real close to home. Im surprised that he got off.
I wonder what happened to the feds that stole all the btc from the silk road investigation. Last time I read about that it looked like they were going to get alot of time but with this ruling they can fight that they didn't launder money because btc isn't considered currency.
Great post +1
Silk Road coins were auctioned off
