The way LE works, whether it's local, state or federal is they focus on one thing at a time for a set amount of time, kinda like what people refer to as a quota but it's not really. It's more like a campaign. Once that time limit is up or a new campaign takes priority they move on to something different.
It's the same thing when local law enforcement does DUI checkpoints or Distracted driving and seatbelt checkpoints. It generates some money and gets the attention of the public to let them know they are working and doing what they should be doing.
It won't last, hopefully not long anyway.
