Pantera is by far my absolute favorite. What i hate is hOw people knock phil for all the shit that went down and say he should have been kicked out the band after cfh but would they be known for what they are without him? NO go back to the early days when they had terry glaze as the front man glam rock at its finest!
Megadeth, where do i start with with this? Mustaine just is, the man is a genius his music is almost like a symphony of bad assery and ill leave it at that as i really just cant put into words how much these 2 bands are my favorites
I'm torn. I guess I'll use the process of elimination.
Let's start with Metallica: My personal favorite album is Ride The Lightening, followed by Kill Em All, ....And Justice of All and Master of Puppets. Their last good album was in 1991 'The Black Album'. Load which was released in 1994 can also be consisted a decent album, but in my opinion, it's a fluke. It is a totally different album, Rockin & Bitchin but soulless and forgettable at the end of the day. But every tune they've made since was disappointing.
Anthrax: Never been a fan, really....
Testament: Alex Skolnik's Jazz soloing is a great addition to their style. I've listened to The Gathering 15 years and I'm still in love to this day. In addition, Demonic, The Legacy, Low, First Strike Still Deadly and The New Order are true works of art. I'm yet to listen to listen to their two new releases.
Pantera: Ohhhhh the Cowboys. I love Vulgar Display of Power and Cowboys From Hell. But..... That's about it.
Slayer!!! Seasons in the Abyss, South of Heaven, Reign in Blood, and Sex Murder Art. But they haven't made anything good since 1994.
Megadeth: I grew up a Metallica kid. Up until a few years ago, I never gave Megadeth an honest try. Boy, was I mistaken!!! Rust in Peace, Countdown to Extension, Cryptic Writings, Youthanasia and SUPER COLLIDER! Holy fuck is the their new album is so good. Unlike all other bands, Megadeth, or Dave Mustaine really... Has remained consistent.
To sum up, Metallica did in fact steal the work of Dave Mustaine in their top albums: Ride the Lightening and Kill Em All. So, they're automatically out. Anthrax and Pantera are also out. Slayer's new material and the death of Jeff Henamann kicks the out as well.
It comes down to Megadeth vs Testament for me, and it's a very easy choice, Megadeth anyday all day.

Megadeth is my number one i grew up with metallica being the bad ass but then i discovered slayer n megadeth n anthrax i didnt like at all untill i saw them in concert. Live they give a good ass show and sound pretty dam good mustv been cuz i was right next to the stage n speakers lol i feel megadeth is still underrated most ppl gotta understand the history of Mustaine to understand his albums were built on on an intense emotion of hatred of metallica for kicking him off n stealing his shit but he did get to use some beats just changed it up for his faster pace liking i love all their albumd but mostly killing is my business cryptic writings youthanasia and rust in peace
