Mythology Themed Metal? Nile, Melechesh, Graveland, Amon Amarth.....
Amy fans? I personally love Melechesh which I came to know through meeting their base player who studied at VCU. Recent developments in Iraq, with ISIS ravaging the historical sites in Mosel, actually reminded me of the band since some of the Artifacts that were destroyed by those Islamic Sub-humans were actually the lyrical themes for their albums: Ladders To Sumeria and the Epigenesis.
How about Nile of South Carolina? I had major respect for the bands creativity until I realized that they completely ripped a German Classical Music Composer Gustav Holst.

Nile is dope i personally love songs n bands that put up a great story in a band makin you think and imagine what they are telling you the messages between the lines thinking outside the box and even story telling like maiden does and amon amarth n several other bands im gonna look up melechesh man im glad u made this forum got new stuff to look up
I dig Amon Amarth. They speak to my DNA, I am of North sea heritage primarily. But these guys (including maiden) owe a nod to the pioneer of fantasy metal. RJD and Rainbow and Sabbath.
Darth pale of the nordic seas lol No doubt man they started it all the deepest roots of all rock n metal. One thing tho i wasnt a big fan of the rjd in sabbath to replace ozzy. ozzy just does it better with em
