I keep seeing where these big time names such as Joey swole stay in the gym from 1 hour 30min up to 4 hours maybe more. I always noticed when I would stay in the gym for 2 hours not jaw jabbing I would notice incredible gains and so would everyone else. I think I will try this. People ask what did you do. Do more sets! I think if you take enough gear and hgh it should help you recover. Plus the most important thing out there to bodybuilding food! What are everyone's thoughts?

moved to workouts and exercise.
AnonThe concept is to tear your muscles, then feed them and repair them. Catabolic/Anabolic reaction is the main goal. IMO, if it takes you more than an hour to tear it up then you're jaw jabbing or afraid to go home to your dreadful life.
AnonLol damn Juice, say what your thinking
Most people I know spend too long in the gym they do set after set with no intensity at all and then boast that they have spent three hours training,I just laugh to myself and think you have spent most of the time talking,If they spent a short period being my training partner they would get themselves into the zone of intensity and realise less is more when your putting everything you have into it and can't move another rep and when you think you can't my answer is yes you can.Ive trained with lads half my age that can't handle it and never bother training with me again.45 minutes in the gym is enough if your doing it right. But on the case of cardio that becomes a totally different time aspect.
I have witnessed Thousands of Failures over my years in this game from guys that "Truly" believed that statement........ i thought it was a Phase at one stage but nah!!............ it still goes on unfortunately.
i gave +3 just for typing the word FOOD..................... it was the key, it is the key, and always will be the key to Growth.
Joey Swole is an instagram fitness guy. like rich piana, he will say anything to get more views and likes.
Lee Haney said "stimulate, dont annihilate". a quick, 60minutes, balls to the wall intensity is all that you need. get in, stimulate the muscle enough to cause some growth and get out and feed yourself. like makawa said, the longer you stay in the gym, the higher your cortisol raises. a little bit longer than 60 minutes is ok, an hour and 15 or hour and 20 wont be detrimental, but 2-4 hours is too much in my opinion. if you cant sufficiently stimulate the muscle in an hour and 20 minutes you need to re-evaluate your training.
like makawa said, a lot of guys do 2 sessions, a morning and an evening. you just need to make sure these sessions are short, sweet, and have a good bit of time and food between then. like 6-8 hours if possible is ideal. 2 one hour sessions is better than 1 two hour session.
Seen a few videos on dorian yates about how long he trained......45 minuets a session but maybe 2/3 minutes rest max within the 45 minute period.
His track record speaks for itself
Best gains I ever saw was when I was doing twice a day training following Charles Poliquin's principles. Even with a twice a day training I was in the gym at most 2hrs/d. I have tried marathon training sessions and after 1.5hrs it just goes downhill. Cortisol buildup spikes and I am just to spent to really make the rest of the workout worthwhile. If you want to spend that much time in the gym you are better to do am/pm workout sessions and not all at once. There is alot of science behind the twice a day training showing why it is superior than just trying to blast out one long session.
I have heard many more pro's speak of 2x a days than I have marathon sessions. Rest is still a key to gains that is still easily overlooked. I have seen many guy fall into the addictive side of lifting, even tho they know they are not making gains they just cannot stop.
They fall into that trap of "I'm not making gains so I must lift more".
I always run into the same batch of characters at the gym who are there before and still there after I leave. It is easy to tell they are way overdoing it and way under doing the food.
you remember when i told you my coach back in the early days had me stop working on my houses (completely). .. to allow enough for growth from hardcore sessions..... no matter how much juice i was taking ........... rest was paramount.
I do. And I practice it.
I find this to be a very interesting post. Because I do on one hand listen to a lot of people talking about over training. In my opinion, I think most people have more of a problem with under eating than over training. For example, as a marine I would be active for 12 hours sometimes during the day but yet I was in excellent shape. But I was also eating around 10k calories a day so it was never a problem. My point being is that I think under eating is more of a problem then over training. I believe you can work for much longer periods of time based on how much food you eat. You cannot simply eat a banana and some peanut butter and then go to the gym for four hours and I expect to build muscle.
Now when I comes down to being in the gym for 3 to 4 hours I have a hard time believing that can be effective. Because if you were honestly pushing yourself as hard as you can go you're going to be dead by the one hour mark. I suppose I can go to the gym and work my bi's and tri's for 1.5 but when I comes down to doing larger muscle groups that would be impossible for me. I did back yesterday, and after doing deadlifts I was completely drained and almost dizzy. I don't believe I was in the gym for an hour.
If you would stay in gym for that long with the hard workouts and heavy weight , food + protein shakes do nothing, you need BCAA , creatine + a lot of supplements because also the muscles need rest to recover but the best way to spend 4 hours in gym to divide it 2 times per day in morning and afternoon , I know some guys do it specially before the show , for me 1:30 hours in gym more than enough .
The only time you would catch me in the gym for 4 hours is by splitting it up. Lol... BCAAs make me want to puke because of the sugary taste it has! They have pill form don't they?
You can get pure bcaa with no additives. Buy individually in bulk. Very cheap and lasts forever.
The BCAA I found online ( I can message you the link ) actually taste great and I don't get any sugary taste from it. But to answer your question, yes they have a pill form. Ill use that a lot of the time before I go to bed.
