Deadlifting and skin rubbing off upper part of knee
ad
I have been doing conventional style dead lifts. I have psoriasis on my shins so I purchased shin guards that do a great job at protecting my skin. However, recently I have sliced skin off the upper part of my knee while doing the negative portion of the movement. Blood will run down my leg and sometimes I have to terminate the set early so I don't make a mess (I train at a commercial gym). I was hoping someone can recommend some padding that can protect the skin around my knees without restricting movement. A link to an online store would be great. I was thinking about purchasing some more shin guards and wearing them around my knees but I don't think this would work. Any help will be appreciated.

I wear jeans when I do deads.
56tooI always wear knee sleeves (made of neoprene) AND shin sleeves this way my whole leg is covered. My shins are scarred from when I use to DL without them but no more
I just purchased some online. Thanks
It sounds like your bending your knees a little early on the way down and hitting your knees. Also,my woman uses an ointment called MG217(the version with tar in it) for her psoriasis and it works quite well.We use it on our son and it cleared up the little patch he had on his knee.
