clean bulk

ad

when guys say they want to do a clean bulk, what kinds of carbohydrates are good to eat a lot of to bulk up with and wont make you put on too much weight along the midsection(besides vegetables). I mean obviously if you overdo anything, your going to get fat, but what are some foods some of you guys associate with doing a clean bulking cycle. also, im about 5'10'' 195ish, and about 12-14% bf, any ideas of what my daily calorie intake should be roughly around to put on muscle? i have researched this but just want to hear some input from the community, im currently taking in about 4100-4400 a day, and i write everything i eat down. info and advice is appreciated. thanks

I would say clean bulking would be getting your macros from foods that have usable nutrition. As far as a potato I would think they would be fine except who eats them with out butter and cheese or fried in a huge bath of oil?

Avoid white carbs and 200-300 calorie surplus, Only you can fine tune your diet.

Brown rice, ww pasta, quinoa, sweet potatoes/yams. Thats what i use and im pretty lean, u just need to adjust your carb intake as u go along. If u see your gaining some bf just lower the carbs a bit

x2 I would also add some beans, black, kidney, ect..try to used dry to avoid the sodium.+1

yeah its good stuff, i dont count it as part of my protein tho

Why wouldn't you count the protein in quinoa...it's the ONLY whole grain with a complete amino acid profile...that's the whole point of eating it.

well i have a nutritionist so i just go by what he tells me and according to the macros i dont think he counts them

Yep!! What this guy said!! Plus oats and some healthier fruits like apples and bananas, black beans, regular potatoes aren't going to hurt you either(despite what everyone says!!...just eat them pre/post workout). I eat the same things day-in/day-out, so you just have to find what you like and what you can eat every day/all day!!

That's so true. My wife find it ridiculous that I eat pretty much the same thing day in day out! It's the lifestyle, it's what we do.
