bloated stomaches, why?

ad

Why do a lot of these pro bodybuilders have that bloated stomache look? it seems like a lot of the older bodybuilders, columbo, Arnold, etc, had more of a flat, more defined flat, set of abs as opposed to the pros of today.

Great info guys, but i must say apart from insulin / high carb diet and GH abuse ....there is another Key element which hasn't been mentioned!
Arnie and the guys back then followed alot of the training methods of Vince Gironda, he's a legend well known for his crazy attitude and training methods but the guy was a genius. He actually kicked out guys from his gym if they did 'crunches' in an abs workout. he said that doing crunches protrudes the stomach and makes it muscular but it bulges out the abdominal muscles giving a bloated but ripped looked...
what he emphasised was doing vacuum exercises for the stomach hence contributing to the bodybuilders back then having slimmer waists and flatter abs.....the vacuum exercises work the deep core by sucking it together and strengthening it rather than working the outer layer around the deep abs.
Alot of science behind it.

Good input there. While Ive never used slin or GH, Ive always had somewhat of a thick torso. Like you said my abs are ripped, but they do protrude sometimes, which I dont like obviously. My EBC after photos are a good example. Im gonna start practicing the vaccuum. I wanna hit it on stage.

Combination of 2 things here.

Insulin and heavy carb loading

Insulin releases all the nutrients carried in the blood almost instantly into the muscle. The problem with this is that slin does not only flood the cell with amino acids but it floods it with everything including fat, so the build up over time of visceral fat inside the abdomen wall and abdominal muscle causes the big bellies.

As for loading before the show, some of these guys are bringing in over 2000 grams of carbs over the course of 3 days, that will also make you look like your pregnant on stage.

Do you think doing a lot of interval style cardio while using insulin would combat the build up of visceral fat at all? Hiit cardio seems to be the prefered method for attacking visceral fat, and I know it brings my abs out fast, but are the effects of exogenous hormones just to strong to be stopped by natural means like that? Dose dependant maybe?

Pretty sure they call it GH gut, but insulin with GH along with the amount of eating these guys do causes an elastic effect of organs etc
