Swelling ankles/edema

ad

First time taking Test. Pinning 600/wk (pins Mon and Thurs). I just started week 3 and noticed some swelling in my ankles. No pain or discomfort. I'm drinking a lot of water. Anything OTC to help?

You need to get to a doctor stat, you may have some underlying heart stuff going on. That’s one of the first signs of cardiac issues. If your ankles are pitted out like you say and you are retaining water like that it’s not good. What’s your BP? Treatment is usually going to be furosemide (lasix) with potassium (extended release) as you will be pissing a ton and losing potassium, which needs to stay balanced or a number of issues can happen. Rather ironic because they can be cardiac and neurological such as seizures.

Either way goto the fucking doctor like yesterday….but what do I know, only went to school a little bit.

Go to a doctor man , no one here is medically trained to tell you what that means. Yes, people will have ideas, but I definitely think swollen ankles are nothing to play around about.. I'm not even going to scare you with some of what it can be.. Just visit a doctor and find out.

Balancing out your electrolytes can help, I’m not sure if you’ll need more sodium or less but just look it up, drink more water. Caffeine is a Diuretic but I never noticed any effect from it. Also wrapping the area with like an ace bandage can help, temporarily. And there’s also otc water pills but check the ingredients and make sure there not just caffeine pills

Check your blood pressure and advise please.

Yup, that's immediately where my mind went also. That and when I see swollen ankles I think type-2 diabetes. Could he maybe be prediabetic and not know. Labs, labs, labs.

Without wanting to worry the OP, definitely needs checking. Probably just water, but needs ruling out for safety.

Are we talking just a little bit of general water bloat across your body or actual edema in your ankles and feet/legs?

I feel a little bloated but is most noticeable in the ankles. I can still see ankle but just a little swollen. Kind of like eating a bag of pretzels on a long flight!

It sounds like its just a bit of water bloat from being on steroids, nothing to worry about. If it was leaving 5mm dents in your ankles because of your socks and the tops of you feet/toes becoming filled with water then it would likely be an issue with kidneys/liver or heart. Did you get any bloodwork done before jumping on Test out of curiosity?

I had my yearly physical right before. I feel full throughout but no swelling in toes. I'll keep an eye out, up my water and drop my sodium intake.
