+ 3 Posting pics is it safe?

ad

Is posting pictures safe. I have a friend that says its a bad idea for most. He told me about a function on phones and digital cameras that actually geo tags your pictures meaning it stamps them with your location and time the pic was taken he took my phone and turned this function off so my pics taken on my phone would no longer be tagged. I wanted to bring this up for other eroids members that don't know about this as I didn't. I just want us all to be safe.
Was I the only person that didn't know about this?
How many people have been taking pics with this turned on and posting them?

When on your phone press and hold on a picture. It'll give you the option to search Google for the image. Rarely works as any cropping will stop it and I believe Eroids does that automatically. Only used it once and that was just cos my wife's mother was conned by a guy she met on a dating website. His profile picture of a dog was one used as an advert. I would say as long as goes from camera/phone to Eroids you should be fine.

Probably the biggest problem with posting pictures here, is that you might post the same picture on some other website or that you might have that picture stored on some web server like Photobucket. Then that picture could be cross-referenced to your username and any other pictures you may have posted here.

Safe or smart? As my colleague said below eroids strips the pic for you.

Now as far as a lot of gear pics or taking pics of big orders....is it smart? I'll let you be the judge of that Smile

You want to be more worried about causing a lot of grief for a source.. Bad blood labs, reviews, constant slagging off about bunk gear, the list is endless. And if they realise you put up a photo they can back track and get your address.. All it takes is one of the people who work as the source to be on a heavy cycle with a bunk ai for them to rock on over to your house.. Unlightly but impossible, I wouldn't say so..

Extremely far fetched I must admit but not impossible. I was rolled over by a domestic source and after a few emails back and forth the matter wasn't resolved to my likings so I decided to write on both of the sources walls with a detailed review and complaints. Then I realised I put up a photo of said order.

Now I'm sure we all know sources have many different addresses some have more than one in the top 10.. there are 100 out comes to this story from ordering from the same source different address and them sending you infected gear to stealing your money.

Yes it's far fetched and yes there is the smallest of possibilities but I only get one body and I'm going to keep it safe. From now on I will upload a 'gear photo' after I've ran the gear and I'm happy with it. Safely first lads.

Good call. My paranoid head makes me hesitant to post any selfies here, but I keep my presence off line in general anyway. Don't like to bring too much attention.

Exif data, including gps, is stripped automatically when you upload.

Yup

of course it's not safe to post pics that is just evidence in LE hands.. the best things is not to be posting mad pics like you are on IG..

As long as you have the gps or location function turned off then youre good. But great great topic and point to bring up. Ive recently deleted all my self pics. If i repost ill prob only keep them up for a day or two. Also dont think its very wise to post pics of massive quantities of gear. Could be seen by LE as possible distribution level. I understand posting gear pics to show you received your order and what it looks like. But cant think of any reason to post 20 plus bottle orders. But thats just me and like bigmurph said...stay safe bros
