Older new beginner… advice pls
ad
I’m 66. 5’6” 145
Have worked out consistently for 40 years. Now getting old man pudge and want to get leaner and tighter… nothing drastic
Am doing this all on my own with research:
My motto to begin: go slow, start low
Just starting first cycle:
70 mg. Twice x week = 140/week Test E
10 mg anavar daily
For 6-8 weeks… may increase anavar up to 20 as I go
Any thoughts, advice… I know I’m starting low
Pct after first cycle of 8 -10 weeks

You are going to screw a good thing up. Diet is all you need... and up your cardio/activity.
You want to restart your metabolism
Change your diet. Stop eating all processed foods. Strict meat and a wide variety of vegetables later you can add grains like rice and occasional pasta. (You might find it necessary to stop your weight loss because you're back to those days when you can eat like a horse and not gain weight).
You are at the high end of your weight range so focus on shedding the fat. I wouldn't be surprised that there's a bit of visceral fat as well.
Basically you are shutting down your own extremely good test levels to artificially increase your metabolism with drugs which has its own list of sides. The risk at our age is getting back natural testosterone levels after you cycle. Odds are greater that you end up on TRT.
Simply walking at a 3.5 mph pace for 1 hour everyday for 6 weeks will lean you out, and drop your BP to something like 115/70 or 100/60. In other words what starts out as effort. Becomes effortless.
The key is activity. Not cardio (a subtle attitude shift towards play). You have a routine in the gym. Adopt a younger man's routine outside the gym. You can quit literally act and feel 15 years younger.
I'm talking from experience.
Try 30mgs anavar and 250 test twice a week.
If you are 66 and got old man pudge you dont have much longer before losing energy to get leaner and tighter so wouldn't you want to go fast and start high? Go slow and what? Wait till you are 70 and its harder? Drop the var and up the test and since you've worked out consistently for 40 years there should be no problem with it.
I'll also add this. Based on the picture you posted, I'd recommend trying Reta first with a proper diet and some resistant training. That will help you shed some body fat and give you a much better foundation to build from. If you truly want to start low and slow, than there's no need to rush into the steriods. Just a thought. Good luck.
What's your pre blood work look like? 140mg a week is just trt levels. 8-10 weeks really isn't gonna really benefit you much since it will take 4-5 weeks for the test you're running to fully saturate in your body. I'm not an expert by any means and I'm sure someone wiser will chime in soon, but I would definitely consider going at least 12 weeks and increasing your test to at least 400mg a week. Drop the Var at that dosage, especially if this is your first cycle. I understand wanting to start low and slow, but I highly doubt you'll see any results at the levels you're considering. Also, at 66 years, why even bother with pct.
Thanks for advice… I’ll consider. I guess being new at this I just wanted to b super careful and not having any mentee, I’m just relying on research although one initial guy my size who hit me interested in this started at 70 mg twice a week… he’s now I think at 250 2x a week in about 8 months so I guess I was gonna follow his lead… and pct…. Only because research says to do that, cycle on and off to protect liver damage????? As I said, I’m new to this
Blood levels fine . Marginally high lcd and marginally low hcl. T levals at 681
Didn’t have liver r kidney labs done at physical… was just thinking at that time about this… also started keto diet one month ago
Those are incredible test levels for 66. 140mg may not put you much higher than that. Or it’s possible you’ll be lower than your natural levels on 140.. Everyone responds very differently and that’s why blood tests are a must.. marek diagnostics is where I order mine from. Or privatemd labs. To really see any results starting off at nearly 700 test levels you’re going to need to be in the 1200 range minimum. Many people don’t get their on 140mg ew. Do bloodwork after 4 full weeks on and see where your test levels are at.
681 is pretty darn good for 66 years old. Yeah, pct would be fine with those natural numbers. I would definitely consider going a bit longer than 8 weeks though. Or at least pull labs at 7 weeks to see how you're responding and adjust from there.
