Non-responder
ad
Is this just, sort of, a catch all term when something doesn't work (like any other drug?) or is there some science, genetic or environmental...actual...basis to this?
I searched, but didn't see anything specifically addressing this.
Thanks.

I’ve seen studies of “non-responders” to muscle growth, but usually their training volume or food intake was too low and more work caused growth. In order to not respond to gear you would have to have a nonfunctional androgen receptor (called androgen insufficiency) and these individuals are females with male genetic codes. You’d already know.
But yes there’s also a plethora of genetic factors to how someone responds to gear. To avoid getting into too much detail I’ll just list some: androgen receptor density and structure, estrogen and igf-1 receptor differences, muscle type and distribution, SHBG levels, myostatin, and how quickly one recovers from training. There are also important vast differences in the CYP450 liver enzymes from person to person that metabolize all of these compounds. These can range from being overactive to entirely non-functional based on genetics. It’s a complicated situation, which is why we all enjoy various cycles and get different side effects
Great answer!

AnonThe question was originally based on me being surrounded by a bunch of men at work - middle aged, out of shape, same diet, same sleep schedule - with them getting 125mg cyp a week and feeling 25 again (without doing a damn thing...still out of shape, but feeling great) and me having to run up to 260 to get my total to rise, bustin' it everyday in the gym.
I don't know about non-response but there is a definite difference between people as to how their system responds to test and other steroids. The same two guys with the same dosage may show big difference in Free/Total test numbers.
Hmm I think everyone has different responses to different things. Me and anadrol are that way. I get horny and seems like I ejaculate more but I have never seen the water retention, weight gain, headaches, or massive pumps other guys talk about. To each their own.
Usually termed a paradoxical reaction
Would it not depend on an individual basis though. Everybody is different so what may work for me, may not work for you. I'm sure there has to be alot of people that tried a compound and the effects were not so good.
I think its just an excuse that people come up with when they can't be bothered to do something right and put the effort in so it sounds cooler just to say they are a non-responder Lol If you didn't respond to steroids that would mean your body doesn't respond to hormones.
AnonThat cuts deep, but is probably as close to the truth as anything. I couldnt count the number of people i know that think you hit the needle and start growing muscles...and that's it. Ha
I'm pretty sure my legs are 100% non-responders.
Pickle!...I think your legs are sexy so...yes you are a responder!...no homo....
Thanks I guess???
AnonThat was my thought. Thank you.

Molinin302Basically we're all unique. What works for one may not for another. For some it's acetaminophen, others naproxen. Potato, potatoe. Have to figure what cooperates with your body the best. Testosterone is the best base in my opinion. Stay as bioidententical as possible.
