+ 3 Higher member karma guys talking down to lower members!!!

ad

Sometimes I wish I didn't look through so many SI threads because I wouldn't be posting this but I'm still noticing some members who are fairly new to karma feel like they can call people out or talk down to lower members what do you get out of that? There's alot of unknown guys on here that have more knowledge than alot of guys! Of course this whole thing excludes mods I'm just curious what you guys get out if disrespecting or "putting them in their place" instead of remembering you were new at one time just curious?

Let me just add too this as a veteran of many many wars of words on these boards..... sometimes when i bring a "tough love" approach to a post when dealing with a real hard head who is hell bent on running his bummer plan of a cycle no matter what anybody says or proves different!.. this is usually the flare off point when the abuse kicks in and the post just becomes a fkn war zone.

I have realised that this happens purely because we are worlds apart hitting buttons to put type on a screen!... in real life i speak to fkn hard heads on a daily basis BUT never have this problem due to the power of EYE CONTACT and the TONE and MODULATION of the voice... having the physique on full show to the person does not go amiss either... it doesnt take long for the realisation factor to kick in and the guy to understand that somebody is doing this thing the right way lol.

What we have here on eroids or any other forum for that matter is a persistant problem that will NEVER discease.

This is how its always been and always will be!.. NO MATTER how much we wish it would end.

Also... let me just add.. KARMA is NOT just about how much knowledge a certain member has!.. i personally hit +3s to members on a regular basis purely for Acceptance of knowledge or showing good attitude and courteous mannerisms... also let me explain the eroids "Tagging system" is a measure of how much input a certain member brings to the boards as a whole... not just for certain specifics.... hope this helps everybody not just the OP.

It is all true. your post would be a great sticky about how things get misinterpreted on the net as well. You & I are both old school hard knock shooters and yet our only intent is to drive others to succeed.

You know I agree with your sentiment as I try to treat a person as their actions deserve. You know I see another trend that is more prominent as of late it is new guys taking shots at mods and others unjustly as well. I think it doesn't boil down to so much of a karma thing anymore, as it does an individual thing high or low karma.

In fact it would probably serve us all well rather then classifying and throwing everyone in that class into the guilt of the actions of a few is start naming names and backing it up with clear cut evidence not personal feelings. But I am agreement with your point when high karma or anybody for the matter does this.

This could all be resolved by new members taking time to read more and post less when they join. I waited a while to post because I wanted to make sure I knew how shit worked around here. That would go a LONG way in cutting down some of the obvious blunders we see.

About the Karma thing, ill say this. It is a reflection of how active you are on the board. It does NOT always reflect how much knowledge you have about AAS. I think some people really let it go to their head but 99% of the higher ranking members don't. Example: I have noticed one guy with higher karma here that is always giving cycle advice, and a lot of it is about tren. When I looked at his pics he didn't even look like he used gear. Kind of tells me that he might not know what he is doing. On the other hand I know a guy that is REAL close to winning an IFBB pro card on here and he has less than 10 karma. Just because he doesn't post a lot. Point is that dude probably knows a lot more than the 20 yr old dude with a lot of karma.

Oh and +1

Well I just think some people try to get in where they fit in. Not a whole lot that can be said or done, just speaks to the person's character and maturity level.

The Karma system is nice for what it is. It shows who interacts with the community at various levels (pictures, informative posts, cycle advice, etc.). I would never base my opinion of someone's knowledge based on this number. I read what they have to say and gather everything from that avenue.

I'm sure there are a lot of lurkers on this site that know a hell of a lot. I lurked for a while before I started contributing and getting karma. I had plenty that I could add, but chose not to since my main goal was scouting sources to order from. Then I started drifting through other areas of the site, interacted and that was that.

What it comes down to is we are all here because we share a common interest, aas and their usage. We should be encouraging each other, having intelligent dialogue, comparing notes and guiding others when needed. We all start somewhere and there is no reason to belittle anyone. No one knows everything, it's a constant learning process. Everyone should keep that in mind when interacting with each other. Like a kindergarten lesson...treat others how you'd like to be treated.
