+ 5 ESTROGEN and glucose utilization

ad

Estrogen may play a very important role in the promotion of an anabolic state by affecting glucose utilization in muscle tissue. This happens by an altering of the level of available glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenaise (G6PD), an enzyme directly tied to the use of glucose for muscle tissue GROWTH and RECUPERATION! Specifically, G6PD is a vital part of the pentose phosphate pathway, essential in determining the rate nucleic acids and lipids are to be synthesized in cells for tissue repair. During the period of regeneration after muscle damage (workout) ,levels of G6PD are shown to rise dramatically which is believed to represent a mechanism for the body to enhance recovery when needed. SUPRISINGLY they find that ESTROGEN is directly tied to the level of G6PD that's to be made available to cells in this recovery window!
The link between Estrogen and G6PD was shown in a study showing levels of G6PD to rise after administration of Test Prop. They also showed that the aromatization of test to estradiol was directly responsible for this increase, and not the androgenic action of the steroid. The non-aromatizable steroids dehydrotestosterone (DHT) and fluoxymesterone (Halotestin) were tested alongside test prop, but failed to duplicate the effect of testosterone establishing it as an effect independent of the androgen receptor.
Hopefully this further indicates the need to have estrogen flowing along with the compounds being administred .They work synergistically not against each other. Agreed, too much estro is not good but IMO the more testosterone you're administering the more estro you need to keep up with the synthesis of the hormones.I hope this has shed some light to the importance of estrogen and why we shouldn't seek to eliminate it from our cycles.
My next post will address the GH/IGF-1 and Estrogen connection

These are really appreciated. And much needed. Thanks, and I'm looking forward to the rest of them.

Thank you for posting these!

56too, If the acceptable range of estradiol is between 8 and 42 pg/ml off cycle, how high do you think is acceptable while on cycle. I found mine was at 137 pg/ml with my midcycle bloods and was completely surprised by it. I felt perfect and was predicting that my estro was gonna come back spot on.

And +1 for this informative piece.

CB although you felt alright at that high of a level it may have been because of that 4200+ test level you had. You have to understand the long term effect this has and I'll point out a few.In males, increased estrogen is associated with narrowing of the arteries and heart disease. It increases SHBG. As an example your SHBG was 34 on 4200+ test level. Androgen use decreases SHBG but since your estro was high so instead of being in the 20's or teens you countered it with your high estro level.More SHBG less free test. If you ran this cycle with less estro you could have used less compound and had the same or slightly higher free test and gotten the same results or better. It cause the body to produce fewer androgen receptors which 56 touched on in this series. But the main thing is when you come off that high estrogen doesn't just disappear. It binds to testosterone receptors in the brain (HPG axis)that signals for the body to produce more testosterone so it makes it harder to recover natural production. I'll say this going slightly out of range may not be a problem. But going 300% out of range can't be good in the long run.

Thanks for the info. You've been extremely helpful during this cycle.

Your welcome CB.One thing that I wrote that is incorrect above is that estrogen decreases androgen receptors that is incorrect it increases. Low estrogen levels like when guys crash or let their e2 get low will decreases receptors. Had a brain fart when I wrote that. LOL

I got a lump at 150mg a week of test pp.

Yeah, when I was younger,I never ran an AI when I cycled.I didn't even know about them.I never had a problem back then at higher doses.Things definitely change as we age.

Keep em coming Sir. Once you post them all you should combine them all in one post and the Mods should sticky it.
