+ 4 ACNE MAY NOT STRICTLY BE RELATED TO TEST OR E2 LEVELS!
I read a lot of posts here where guys complain about acne during or off cycles or on TRT. Most trend to look at Test and E2 levels. This is a good place to start, and it surely can be related. However, the problem is far more complex than that.
I'm almost 70 and still have acne! I've had it since I was fourteen. Of course it was a lot worse as a kid. The only factor now is how bad it is at any given time. I'd like to think of myself as a pubescent 70 year old teenager lol.
As a kid I had huge Zits everywhere! It was embarrassing to say the least! Dermatologists gave me everything from antibacterial soaps, lotions, scrubs, ultraviolet lights and on and on.
Sadly, the only thing that improved it was antibiotics; mainly Tetracycline. They kept me on it for way too long and it gave me intestinal problems. It will destroy the flora lining of your intestines. This was no fun, and no one knew about probiotics back then.
So, why am I afflicted with this? And I suspect many posts I read may have similar issues and not be aware.
First I did have very high Test levels and that surely was a factor. My test levels began to drop around 40, but my acne although not as unbelievable stuck around.
Sebaceous glands produce oily skin; and I have em! No matter what my Test levels; my skin is oily. Hence enlarged pores, blackheads acne!
Also, I appear to be susceptible to the bacteria that causes acne. It seems my immune system simply can't adequately fight them. The smallest cut or scratch can turn to cellulitis, and has on multiple occasions. This is one reason I am so careful when injecting to keep a super sterile environment and make sure the area is washed several times with soap before swabbing it with alcohol.
Also, I have noticed that when I get run down, my acne seems to get worse! As with most things fatigue will accent your body's flaws and weaknesses.
This may all sound weird to some of you; but I assure you it's true. Some people are susceptible to sore throats, bronchitis etc. I have no issues there thankfully and can't remember my last sore throat!
So, for those of you who suffer from acne on cycle or off you may want to consider some of these factors or visit a dermatologist. If you do take antibiotics under a docs care; I don't recommend doing it for long and for sure eat lots of yogurt and take a probiotic!
I hope this has been helpful to some of you!

Sun, lots and lots of sun. I make it a priority to lay out at the pool at least once a week for at least 1 hour. Plus I love lounging at the pool lmao.
basskiller89Duta for life lol
Surprised only one person here mentioned DHT:( When your DHT balance goes out of whack due to abnormal conversion rates or by exogenous DHT sources the acne that comes with that gets fucking gnarly quick.
Everything we do is about homeatasis and creating a balance whether on blast or cruise or off cycle. There’s definitely a lot of trial and error but once you get your balance dialed in it’s very possible to go acne free.
NotNatural23One guy said ask him about his dht levels. That is one of the main causes for aas users is excess DHT. There are some meds that can help but it also can cause some unwanted side effects. But all in all I think a majority of the comments one here can help or at least led someone who is half way smart to find alot more about this problem
Yeah no doubt. All good info
When I started TRT, I got acne on my back and I couldn’t get rid of it. I took aro and it helped, but it took over a year to start to clear. I finally lowered my dose a little and stabilized and all acne cleared. That was four years ago. I get a pimple here and there on my chest and back, but it’s all gone now.
NotNatural23Anyone who reads this check out all members comments here they all have really good things to say and are knowledgeable about this subject. Well 99% of us do. Lol this is why I like eroids this post here can help alot if people and point them in the right direction.
NotNatural23Everyone has bacteria on skin some people body just handles it better you could say some people can shave and get breakouts bad and others dont get anything. Not sure if you can change that with diet but Probiotics and digestive enzymes and elimanating all diary can do wonders.
I think alot may also be due to genetic disposition for acne. Some people have it no matter what they do to control it and others never have it no matter what they do. Can probably be managed somewhat with all the topicals, drugs, lotions etc but if you are prone to get acne it just may be due to shitty genetics in that department.
NotNatural23Genetics has a ton to do with it. Some people produce alot of sebum and others dont and the hairy you get and the more you shave the more likely to get acne zits or folliculitus. Benzoyl peroxide helps and a topical antibiotic might help but be careful I vot a bad case of C.DIFF INDUCED BY THE ANTIBIOTICS AND it will mess with gut and intestines for long time. Zinc and Panothonic Acid works good also. Unfortunately you have to do a shit ton to keep it under control. I had clear skin when I was younger and once I I got older and shaved more and did a couple cycles it got worse. I am far from using accutane but still being this old and getting a pimple or zits sucks big donkey duck. Personally ANTIBIOTICS ARE A LAST RESORT FOR ANYTHING AND ONLY SHOULD BE TAKEN WHEN 100% NECESSARY ALOT OF TIMES CAN CAUSE MORE HARM THEN GOOD AND ALSO THEY ARE WAY OVERPRESCRIBED AND THAT IS WHY WE NOW HAVE BACTERIA THAT IS ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANT.
For me I tried everything in the world. Antibiotics, creams, scrubs and everything would work a little bit. But nothing got rid of it. So I cut out dairy. So no whey protein, no ice cream nothing. For me this was the cure, eating as clean as can be makes a huge difference. Milk and dairy is loaded with hormones that they put in there. I can cycle any compound and it doesn't affect my skin anymore. I used to get lots of acne just on 200mg of test. Now I don't. I would try to watch out for sugar and dairy. Accutane is sort of a last line of defense but that stuff is really bad for you.
NotNatural23Great point forgot to mention if you cut out dairy or anything with lactose helps a ton. Lactose and most diary cause bad inflammation and throws off your ph in your body. Try a diet THAT WILL BE HIGH IN AKALINE FOODS and also cut out gluten. Sugar also. It isn't necessarily what they put in dairy it is the human body loses the ability to digest lactose around age 5 in 75% or more humans and can cause alot of harm to your body. I had a teacher who had perfect skin shredded to the gills and always was full of energy and he claims it started when he eliminated all dairy even Whey protein isolate that is lactose free his only source of protein is from food now
JayD718I understand what you said the causes are, but have you ever tried Evening Primrose Oil? It's known to help with so many aspects of the different conditions that you spoke of like; helping to regulate the production of hormones and prevent acne formation, the fatty acids in Evening Primrose Oil may help dilute sebum, decreasing the risk of pore clogging, and the gamma-linolenic acid(GLA)in the Evening Primrose Oil can help lessen the inflamation in the gut lining and repair leaky gut, among other benefits!
estro, dht, bacteria
manage 'em
AnonI've been using KAVI Organic Sulphur Suspension, it works wonders. You have to order it online, it's pretty expensive though.
JayD718Wow, I feel for you. I guess, maybe you're just predisposed to adult acne. I've heard adult acne, but I've never heard of someone your age having acne. I myself, have always had very oily skin, even when I wasn't on test. Luckily, I don't really get any major acne though, I just have large pores on my nose that get filled with shit that I squeeze out.
Personally, I try to never touch my face or any other oily parts of my body where pores can get clogged, except when just getting out of the shower to put on a non comedogenic(Doesn't Clog Pores) moisturizer, like Lubriderm. Also, I use salicylic acid medicated pads(Stridex), to clean my face during the day and salicylic acid cleanser before bed, along with salicylic acid cream to rub onto any pimples or blotches. I clean my face with alcohol, but no too often because it can dry out your skin too much and cause you more problems. There's also a fairly new, non-comedogenic retinoid cream for acne called Adapalene Gel 0.1%, which you probably heard of. It's supposed to be very effective for preventing and treating acne!
But, I've had my share of ance, especially some serious acne on one particular cycle, which was tren, sust, and Anadrol(Definitely Not Recommended). This was when I was younger and just starting to use gear! The ance was so bad all over my chest, shoulders, and back! Just showering was so painful. When the water would hit the pimples, it was so painful. I still have scarring on those spots, but you can't really see it, unless you're really looking up close. My doctor actually gave me that same medicine, tetracycline as well. But, he said that it could make my teeth gray, so I only used it for a couple of days and stopped! Did you ever get that side effect with the tetracycline?? Also, have you ever tried any supplements for your acne?
Sure I've tried and take lots of supplements, but it is a combo of overactive sebaceous glands and weakness to that bacteria.
Have you had your dht levels checked? What I've been doing lately is when I'm washing my hair with nizoral shampoo I lather it on my shoulders, chest and back and leave it on for about 10 minutes then wash it off, it dries out the skin and its way less oily then it was before.
NotNatural23Also nizoral can help keep your hair on your head. For those prone to Male pattern baldness. It has been shown to lower the DHT on the scalp but he careful and read all drug interactions before using. They are pretty rare but can be very serious
My dat levels were always high because of the conversion from Test to DHT via 5-Alpha Reductase. They get even higher when I use a DHT compound on cycle. But the main cause is what I wrote above over active sebaceous glands and weakness to that particular bacteria.
NotNatural23Read a study where they found testosterone injections can cause pores to get bigger and clog because it makes the sebaceous glands produce way to much sebum and that cause a shot load of problems such as enlarged pores that are only corrected by expensive lasers or surgeries. I am not trying to promote this company but I got a bottle of niacinamide and zinc oil from THE ORDINARY which helps reduce the production of sebum in the face and it does help and work. I can give link if anyone interested a month's supply is 7 dollars I think.
I was almost making a forum because my acne is confusing me so much. It comes and goes seemingly randomly and only recently have a i figured out how to keep it controlled. I think whenever I start a new compound and my hormones are all over the place i break out but simply by using a wash clothe with water and then drying it off with a towel on the effected areas keeps the oil down and has stopped 90%.
I also always wonder how the fuck these models who are clearly on juice keep their skin so clear?!
sexualtyrannasaurusI took accutane for a couple months and never really had issues ever again... once in a while though if i'm blasting something easily cleared up.
get a good cleanser + toner and wash your pillows often
NotNatural23Thought about doing that cause it can shut down sebum production and in alot cases permanently keep it lower once you stop but the sides are to much for me to take plus I am not that bad after I changed things in my diet and face care regimen.
