+ 3 Anabolic vs androgenic ratios
I have been researching this heavily in hopes of critiquing my wife's next run. The goal is to steer clear of heavy androgens. We have an idea of what she wants to run but I thought this may be useful to some people since I have yet to see it here.

This was found on a number of different sites and is universally accepted. However the importance and usefulness of these numbers is up for debate.
"What these numbers specify is the measured ratio of growth in rats of the levator ani muscle versus the prostate.
The levator ani is not a skeletal muscle, but is analogous to the human PCG muscle. It really is not a good assay for effect on skeletal muscle.
And prostate growth is of course a measurement only of that particular possible side effect. In rats.
So perhaps the reason that "anabolic/androgenic ratios" are useless in bb'ing is because they are derived from measurements which aren't useful: that is to say, they aren't good predictors.
There was a Russian protocol that actually may have been useful -- would have had a better chance, anyway, I think -- where anabolic effect was assayed by means of evaluating growth of the exercise-stimulated soleus muscle in rats. The soleus was stimulated by means of cutting the gastrocnemius while still in some way requiring the rats to walk or run, forcing the soleus to carry the entire load.
But I've never seen data from these measurements."

Yeah these numbers are strange for sure. This is how they are listed but we know they are deceiving
I just don't know if these numbers are helpful at all.
We all know turinabol shows no androgen number yet it can be very androgenic. I heard this is because in the body it converts to a more androgenic compound.
I've also taken 1400mg of tren for a couple weeks and to be honest, one gram of test seemed more androgenic. So I don't know what these numbers truly mean. Can someone explain better for me?

ok so these numbers are based on the rate of prostate growth in rats!?!
Why do they use rats in 90+% of studies on human meds? Do you know? Here, knock yourself out bro.

thebadguyI appreciate the info. It doesn't make a lot of sense from a scientific standpoint. For example. why would anyway say a ratio of testosterone is 100/100? why not just a ratio of 1/1 or just plain 1. It probably took a lot of research on google to find this but just because its on the internet doesn't make it so. Its kind of like the insurance commercial where the chick hooks up with the guy who told her he was a french model, and really he was an american douche bag. Another thing is proviron has almost no anabolic properties as it is DHT which is purely androgenic therefore its ratio should accurately reflect that. Bill Roberts says a lot of things that can not be backed up by scientific standards. The gold standard being a double blind placebo. It would take a huge amount of research to come up with an accurate list of Q ratios and even then the researchers would have to come up with ways of determining androgenic vs anabolic properties. Since there is no accepted medical reason to conduct this research and no way to makee money of of it it will never happen. So i guess instead of throwing numbers out there its better just to say, " my experience with oxandrolone is very few androgenic side effects compared with trenbolone" or whatever.
I always find this info kinda useless.
i.e. Proviron shows a A/A ratio of 30/40 - 100/150. That would mean proviron is as (or better) anabolic as test, with much less androgenic effect.
But the reality is Proviron shows a High androgenic effect and seems to be useless for building muscle.

Useless? Lol, i believe at the bottom of my post there is a quote by Bill Roberts as to why he agrees with you, but there is no hard evidence to confirm these numbers.
This should be a sticky because I can't ever find these ratios when I need them.
