So today I'm sick as a dog fever 101, body aches, sore throat, hurt to even walk, massive headache but I think wait a minute it's leg day what do I do I wonder to myself and 5.3 secs later it hit me..
A voice in my head screamed at me "GET YOUR CRY BABY ASS IN THAT GYM AND STOP BEING A VAJAYJAY"
So I popped 4 Advil downed my protein an got my ass in the gym. I took it easy but still got it done and to be honest I felt some what better, rain or shine my ass will be in the gym till the day god decides to take me out of the world! I let my gains slip away once from being sick i'll be damned if I let it happen again.
So what do you do when your feeling down an out? Do you holdem or foldem
It's not about how many times you get knocked down in the battles you fight, It's about
how many times you can find the strength to get up an keep fighting

BilMcbigballsDude if you had to get a z-pak from the doctor, you are SICK. THATS VERY STRONG ANTIBIOTICS. And it just seems like staying home to let ur body recover is best. Another thing to mention is why would you want to be around a bunch of people at the gym and get them sick too? You said a fever and strep, CONTAGIOUS! I hate when sick people are coughing all over me and the equipmenT. not trying to be rude but STAY HOME! A few days won't kill ya.
Ya staying home a few days wouldn't killed me but I didn't get a cough nor was I around a bunch people or was I around even around a few I go late at night an no ones ever there at that time. I'm not that heartless bro

so back to sickness... you should not work out when you have a fever...a fever means there is an immune response occurring so pushing yourself will weaken your immune system and could actually make you worse...missing a day or two at the gym doesn't make you a slacker at all! no fever; as long as there's no bad lung infection i wld def get my ass to the gym.....i worked out 9 months pregnant i make few exceptions for skipping the gym...
working out and exercise while pregnant is the very best thing you can do to make the whole experience a good one. I worked horses and cleaned barns up til the day I delivered my children...
that had to be challenging in more ways than one...the smells had to be rough, for me my sense of smell was so heightened i couldnt eat certain foods or wear certain perfumes and some smells caused the nausea to kick in terribly....nonetheless i agree it is the very best thing you can do
the horses didn't bother me at all... but the smell of wood smoke sent me running for the bathroom more times than I can remember.

I just let small things get to me now like losing gains so on because when I was sick with the flu I missed 3 months an i even have pics up of how I looked before on my last self pics an let me tell you not a pretty sight
So i let my line of thinking get the best of me an over look my health witch i should be more worried about gains can always be made back but if you fuck your health off might end up paying the ultimate price! I just need to think of the bigger picture sometimes an stop letting my pride an thick ass head stand in my way
BigBmajTrue gains shouldn't be loss taking a week off. You will loose that sacroplasm pump a little - that fullness feel, but it comes right back. A week off occasionally is a great thing for the body. But be warned you will look smaller in the mirror - it's so psychological.
I always have to remind myself, if it was lost that quickly it was never there in the first place.

I know the mirror jacks with me one day I'm lookin at myself an i'm like damn I look good next day I look and i'm like hold up this isn't what I saw yesterday somebody must of replaced my mirror!!
Then another day I look like I put on some body fat, next day I look leaner so now I just try not to look in the mirror so much lol
BigBmajHappens to me daily. When you feel small just look in the car window reflection - that always makes me feel better.

I couldn't agree more getting sick is no joke! im stubborn that way too and i learned the hard way but at least i learned now i take a day or two or three off when im really sick. i think this is probably a bigger issue for most of us...im sure a lot of us dont rest enough period!
I'm sure of it to and it's 3x as harder to take that needed rest when your on gear at least for me it does, I just wanna get in the gym rain or shine an kill it!
Also makes it hard because I have a hurt rotator cuff an when i seen the doctor he wants me to take at least a month off or longer from upper body and to be honest I don't think I can do it
I'll lift baby weights before I cut it off completely an that's what I plan on doing just to keep my blood flowing an ice it before an after an lots of Advil

I have a tramatic brain injury from afghanistan and im still in the gym two hours a day even if the doctors yell at me everytime
This morning I had a migrane, stuffy sinuses was coughing all morning, sneezing, stuffy nose, felt like crap.
Took a one hour nap and felt much better but still not 100%. Few hours later hit the gym with intense back bicep workout and sweat it all out. I felt amazing and perfect after the gym. Weird, it like it made me better. Maybe the sweating?
I do have a really good immune system though.. Not sure if that has to do with it but I think the gym helped
if i have the sniffles or light cough i would still head to the gym, but if im really sick, i usually take time off until im better. plus would you want someone sick next to you working out coughing all over the place? lol
I have never let my "Vajayjay" dictate my actions, whether it be the gym, or any other walk of life. Mainly because I possess a PENIS, and that dictates almost everything I do :-)
That little nugget out of the way (pardon the pun), nothing stops me from going to the gym, this is because I am too arrogant and bloody minded to give into pain / illness / death to not attend.

I learned a hard way when I first ran test I had never felt the want to and determination that test brings before. I ran and lifted so much that made myself sick. So if I have a fever or feeling sick to my stomach or whatever I just lay out. It only makes recovery from the sickness longer. So when my "pussy hurts" I go the smart route and make it up the next day.
With a fever, you should probably go jump on a bike or treadmill. Sweat it out of you. When I was a kid and had a fever my mother would bundle me up and cover me in quilts then make my chug OJ. As miserable as it was to sweat like that, it always knocked it out. Stay well hydrated and sweat it out. Leave the weighs alone tho. You're still weak whether you like it or not. You'll just hurt something if you try to go hard on the iron.
Thanks for the advice brother, I'll do that but you wouldn't suggest weights period even after I break the fever an stuck to really light weight with 1 to 2 sets max?
I would just be very careful and use light weight. Just to get the blood pumping through those muscles.
