I wouldn't give blood. RBC is in range. Hemoglobin is slightly elevated. More hemoglobin more oxygen. Good thing. More oxygen= more stamina and less fatigue.
One of the most common causes of high hematocrit is dehydration. Get in the habit of drinking 2-3 glasses of water before you blood test and watch those numbers change. +

GizmoDuck's picture

True. But with EQ it’s only gonna Raise my HcT higher tho yea? That’s what I was gonna give blood now before it gets too high

MegaT883's picture

Yes but you have been on for about 8 wks now it's not going to get drastically higher. I don't think its accurate. Most guys don't drink enough water. Its summer and like I said the major cause of high elevation with HCT is dehydration. Give blood if you must. But next blood test drink a bunch of water before you test and be amazed.

GizmoDuck's picture

Yea. True. At work I drink like crazy. At home little different story. Ha.

My pre lab hgb was 15.3. Which is what my body is used to. So even tho it’s within range it is still a big jump for my body and can create the heart work harder you know

Think about this:

Over 400 million people worldwide live at high altitude and have high blood counts, and yet no treatment is necessary nor is there ever any harm. Athletes train at high altitude to raise their blood cell counts to increase their exercise endurance at sea level.
Colorado has the 8th lowest mortality rate, the 3rd lowest cardiovascular rate in the USand the longest life expectancy at 87, despite having the highest average altitude and hematocrit rates.

Nice. Cant beat actual evidence and empirical data

MegaT883's picture

Here's a great explanation on the subject. Keep in mind there are still some with medical problems that should still give blood.

What kind and how much AI are you taking?

GizmoDuck's picture

Not taking any AI

SL's picture

I would only donate 1 bro but to each their own ++

GizmoDuck's picture

Yea. That’s what I was thinking. At first I thought my hgb was 19 but when I saw it. I was thinking only one unit

SL's picture

Yea 18 isn't too bad and if I did 2 I would feel crappy.. Only one and I feel great Smile
