I have cat and dog my self, and I can say that cat and dog relation ships really depends from cat -__-'
Mine is really aggressive with dogs (not humans), only after half a year he became less aggressive. It dose not mean that they sleep together now, but at least cat does not have panic attack when dog comes near to him.

Cat breed is cornish-rex and actually I thing it's one of the best cat breed for flat.
Why ?
1) They don't have much fur
2) They are week as cats ( if this breed will be angry with something he will not be able to seriously harm you or your kids ! )
3) They really like warm praises so they usually will come to you (to sleep on your knees or some were near you)

I fully agree that the relationship between a cat and a dog depends more on the cat. When we started a bull and we had a cat. Since the dog was more temperamental and the cat was very cautious and distrustful. But how the rapprochement happened, now peace and friendship)) And most importantly, sleep together and drink from the same bowl))

Hahaha - Cool picture!

Its funny how cats and dogs get along despite them being totally different animals - do you find that when you first introduce them they fight with each other or do they just accept each other from the word go?

Yes. our amazing planet. So different, but sometimes so similar and friendly and, most importantly, more loyal and sincere than people. We have a lot to learn from them, and most importantly how to get along and find compromises) My animals pleasantly surprise me)

I have found that dogs want to be best friends with them as soon as they meet. And cats typically don't give a shit the first few days.. but warm up to them soon after.
