Lactate Threshhold

ad

Curious to hear thoughts & experiences on improving lactate threshold? Training methods or supplements?

I must admit that although I am aware of lactic acid, I was not familiar with the term lactate threshold so I did a search and found this explanation pretty good so I thought I would share it in case anyone else is as ignorant as I am.

Thanks for share here Jayz...
The question behind this post is training/supplements that apply to MMA, BJJ, and Boxing...
The ability for the athlete to output high level of power for extended time frame.
This is not a bodybuilding topic.

Id say the wingates would need to be complimented by LISS endurance training to become effective. Swimming, yogging etc. rather than low impact (treadmills etc).

Saw the title and thought we were going to be talking about titties, damn.

BFR

select ~50% normal 8-10 rep range weight. Then do 4 sets of 30-40 reps/failure (lower weight as needed to achieve the 30 reps), speedy but with controlled contraction etc. Use 20 seconds rest only between sets.

lactic acid and other nutrients pool in the most excruciating, growth promoting way

I have used this method...dropped weight, increased reps. This has been somewhat effective. I have also implemented wingate training, Tabata, and PWO sauna.

Supplements I’ve used: beta-alanine & baking soda with some degree of effectiveness. I have heard solid anecdotal reports of THC+CBD in proper ratios; I have not been able to test this. In addition I’ve tested Cardarine with success - though I do get concerned with reported cancer sides. I have read good things about SR9009, another I have not tested.

The thing about the BFR, when done 3/4 times a week (for a period of time), is that it forces the body to adapt so that threshold is going north when BFR is done properly. The likes of wingates are phenomenal and could only compliment that.

I measured CRP when taking cbd and it did absolutely nothing. However it was a non cannabis CBD and I understand there may be differences.

Cadarine scares the bejaysus out of me. Imagine it causes cancer, then the anabolics we use propel the cancer into the stratosphere. No thanks.

I watched a deal of ben P M/140.
He had an explanation to increase lactic acid he would give a full flex, slow negative and then hold the opposite muscle flex giving a full stretch while working the opposite arm or leg. His example was during curls. So right arm curl. Slow neg, hold tricep fully stretching the bicep. Holding triceps tight( right arm) as he did the curl rep on the other (left arm. Then repeating it. The first time i did it like that i couldnt move my biceps the next few days. Felt like they were going to tear off
