+ 3 Feeling bad in the gym? This could be why..

ad

Good read from a while back. I guess back in the day 2 different doctors with no connection did studies finding same results, not knowing until a later date of the findings. This could be big if you are a powerlifter that competes, physical cycle of 23 days positive 11.5 negative physical Biorhythm, like a mans period ig haha

Recently my workouts have become shorter. I can achieve good results, with very little stress on my brain. After so many years of training, it's easy to come across stress, which doesn't produce muscle growth.

Very interesting.

I thought so too, not just the physical cycle but the emotional one too. Be cool if I could key in on mine a little

Great share...
I’m a firm believer of this type of approach to training...
Recognize when you lift heavy you are also placing a large amount of stress on the CNS which needs time to recover as well; just like muscles, tendons, ligaments...
A great method to monitor your recovery is HRV (heart rate variability)...3 mins per day in the AM...gives you insight to your CNS recovery.

Nice info I didn't know that

Interesting read, makes sense too. I definitely go through periods where I have several consecutive stellar workouts then later on I struggle for several days, or just don't have nearly the enthusiasm and raw aggression I just had previously. I always just chalked it up to being tired from the great session days and needed time to recover, but even trying longer rest periods doesnt really seem to help, so maybe there's something to biorythyms.

I feel you man, I used to think it had something to do with the moons gravitional pull (like the tide) making me feel heavier and lighter at times than others.. Big Ron talked about it long ago too in a magazine. I'm going to try to keep track and see if I can key in on my cycle

Other contributing factors should be included in the log too, specifically diet and rest, which I've been tracking as well. Even keeping all that consistent and on point though I still have good/not as good periods, so there must be other factors. I also catch stupid little injuries sometimes and they do seem to occur in those low points. Nothing serious, just enough to be aggravating and add insult to injury or so to speak, lol.

Be a good idea to log those nagging little pulls/strains just to see how the data comes out.

Yeah for sure. I have kids and sleep definitely contributes to it. My diet will stay the same until first of year, I'm pretty consistent there. I don't take any pre workout, but I do have little periods I just drag ass lol thanks for the pointers Smile
