So I came across this recipe and it turned out really good with a couple modifications of my own. Definitely an awesome meal for bulking season.
Shrimp and Barley Orzotto
8 oz Shrimp, uncooked w/ tail on
1 small onion diced small
1 red pepper diced small
1 c carrot diced small
1 c celery diced small
1 tbsp oil
3 tbsp butter
4 c chicken stock
1/2 c white cooking wine
- Put 1 tbsp oil, 2 tbsp butter and onion in a stock pot. Cook until onions soften (10 min or so).
- Add barley and get fully coated (1 min).
- Add the stock, white wine and half of the diced celery, carrots and peppers. Cook until it start to thicken on
medium-low heat (about 20 min). - Add the rest of the veggies and shrimp and stir often until most of the liquid evaporates.
- Stir with the last tbsp of butter.
This actually is a great prep and reheats very well plus putting the shrimp in so late prevents it from having an unpleasant texture when reheated. I usually triple this recipe and eat as my pre workout meal during the week and it I love it.
Definitely makes eating as much as I need to more enjoyable.

I just love shrimp. They are good at taste. If cooked raw their smell is horny. After I have this recipe which I made by your post really tastes good.
