Glycemic Index vs Glycemic Load
ad
Hello All, I'm new to the community and was hoping someone can help me understand index vs load. I'm experimenting with different diets and feel this is a major component of shedding fat. Any help would be much appreciated.

Glycemic load pretty much refers to total insulin release
Glycemic index refers to the speed at which the total insulin release happens
GlycogenGuyThank you Basskiller. So what is better for weight loss? High index low load or vice versa.
It's obvious that low index low load would be best but if one is high and the other low. Which would be best for weight loss.
basskiller89Arguably a higher GI would be better for fat loss because insulin would be present in the bloodstream for less time. However it doesn't really matter. If you are consuming less calories a day then you need, you'll lose fat
GlycogenGuyMakes sense. Thanks Bass. I lost 35 lbs in 3 weeks. Keto with intermittent fasting. Rating very clean. Lots avocado, sardines, coconut, salmon, olives, chicken, greens ect.
basskiller89Congrats brother, keep it going!
GlycogenGuyThanks for the encouragement!
