Help with weight gain

ad

Looking to gain weight. Was talking to a co-worker friend who used to work out and use gear and he told me about his gains and nutrition. Have no access to gear nor do I know much about it so for now that is out of option. Anyone have any nutrition advice to add music weight and some good workouts that can be done at home? Im about 135 with a very fast metabolism so putting on large muscle weight has been a struggle.

I used to have the same problem...gaining is tough, I think eating is more important than anything, food and gear both included. Don’t concentrate just on your protein intake, make sure you get enough carbs as well

Eat within 1 hr of waking. Always. Never skip breakfast or any other meals. Make sure to get in at least 30g of protein( min) each meal. Double that in carbs every meal.
Eat every 2 to 3 hrs max. Shoot for 5 to 6 meals a day. And get as full as u can stand before going to bed.. like so full that u feel like u might puke if u sit up too fast. Lol
But seriously. I did this to get from 140 to 165 and also used some whey shakes from time to time in place of a meal only if i couldnt eat for whatever reason. Creatine is good too. But you not having access to gear or whatever is great because you would be disappointed if u used it at this stage. No one wants to take roids to weigh 150lbs...

Nutrition: solid advice below from TrainElite...basically, you gotta EAT brother...eat clean, eat often, consume enough protein...

Workouts at Home: I suggest you buy some kettlebells...figure out a weight you can handle, get 2 of them... you’ll be able to do all compound movements & then some...if you need assistance on how to perform the exercises go to youtube type [Onnit Kettlebell Exercises]

Grocery store:
huge bag potatoes
Butter,cheese,bacon,sour cream
Steaks,Chicken,Tuna
huge bag rice
bread
bulk Peanut Butter
Milk,MILK,MILKK
EGGS

Don't eat crazy big meals that get you so full you can't eat half the day,my advice is what I did when I was young. It's cheap and effective.Take a loaf of bread and a jar of peanut butter, take the whole loaf out and make it into thick ass peanut butter sandwhiches, constantly stuff these down your throat all day long, chugging glass after glass of whole milk to get them down, see how close to eating a whole loaf of bread and 2 jars of peanut butter a day you can get too, breakfast a big plate of eggs and fried potatoes,at dinner eat a big steak and loaded potatoes, chug milk,
make a big pan of fried potatoes or baked potatoes,whatever...

I've known many hard gainers, which you can call yourself roughly,Just keep eating and make sure your working out, those pB sandwhiches and milk will pack on some mass bud quick...follow any basic lifting protocol, lift heavy, multiple sets of each exercise..and you WILL gain the mass...when you get tired of eating stuff, blend it up and just chug it down...

Good luck..we all started somewhere, keep going and don't give up.

for people new to working out, I always suggest the old school "squats and milk" routine...
but in its most basic form, you do just a few compound exercises: bench press, barbell rows, barbell shoulder press etc...and of course, SQUATS!! (you don't need much equipment to start but you will gain strength fairly quick)

you pick a weight that you normally get 10 reps but then you get 20, pause, take deep breaths but make sure you hit your 20 reps...then next workout, you raise the weight by 5lb (try to increase the weight on all your lifts regularly)

make sure you're also getting in a minimum of 2 quarts of milk a day...food intake should increase, keeping to stuff like steak, chicken, fish, eggs, oatmeal, bananas, potatoes, nuts

using a system just like this, I had gained a good 10lb in about 3-4 weeks, look for a book called "super squats" its definitely a great read and great system
