+ 4 Hard gainers gallon of milk a day

ad

Well I’ve been pretty much drinking a half gallon of milk a day with a good clean diet and I must say it’s working out great. Now I know I’m taking in a large amount of calcium and think that’s the only drawback I can think. One gallon of whole milk has 2600 calories. Now if you can handle it and are a hard gainer I can see this as a easy way to get your calories in. Back in the 1950s it was a common thing for bodybuilders to drink a gallon of milk a day. Now if you are worried about the fat one gallon of skim milk a day is about 1440 calories and around 144 protein.

That much milk sounds insane. Call me crazy but i just eat and i dont consume any shakes. I jumped 205 to 260 in a short peroid of time with 7200 calorie diet healthy food. I am currently 235 as i am leaning down at a 3500-4200 calorie diet.

I think drinking that much milk I would literally shit in my pants. There are better ways of taking in extra calories. I would suggest pb&j with a glass of milk a few times a day would still get you the protein and calories without the digestion issues. Maybe 1/3 a gallon in total maybe a little more drinking more than that i wouldn’t get off the toilet. I was somewht of a hard gainer when I started and this was pretty much my diet easiest way to hit my target macros

Downside weight gain is slower since it takes a month prior to you are drinking 1 gallon of entire drain every day, drink a glass or two of low fat drain before bed as a wholesome method to build your calorie admission and perhaps advance bulk development, particularly in the event that you take an interest in quality preparing exercise...

Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination

My metabolism is so jacked that I drink at least a half gallon of chocolate milk every day. Lately I've bumped it up to a gallon but all I'm seeing is huge bloating and a few more bathroom breaks...lol

I strive for at least 64oz of 2% milk a day....when i was gaining my daily staples were at least, 6 whole eggs, 1lb lean fish, chicken , pork or beef, and 64 oz of milk along with one 32oz tub of cottage cheese. Thats well over 250g of high quality protiens all from whole foods...thos caused me to gain 15 pounds lean in a year along with complex carbs, rice oats potatoes ect.....

Why Fairlife? I’ve heard this in the gym. What’s better about it?

Fairlife is a lactose-free “super milk” that contains 50% more protein, 30% more calcium, and 50% less sugar than regular milk.

Fairlife milk 13g protein 370g calcium 6g sugar
Ordinary Milk 8g protein 250g calcium 12g sugar

Thanks for the tip.

I’ve had it. It’s pricey and doesn’t taste much better than regular milk. If I could afford it I’d buy it but I can’t.

It’s filtered differently than regular milk. More protein, more calcium, no lactose. I can see why it appeals to people.

Have you had the chocolate? If not you’ve got to try it

It’s $5 per half gallon vs $2.50 for a full gallon. So roughly four times the price. But with the health benefits, if money isn’t a concern it’s definitely the way to go.

Calrizzian's picture

Damn bro! Obviously where you live depends on pricing... I get it for 2.99 per half gallon all day. Still double the price of regular milk, but it’s damn worth it to me.

It really helps on days I’m not adhering to my “diet”/eating schedule due to a hectic work/life schedule to get my protein intake up- or if for some reason my hunger just plane sucks ass that day as well.

I can run through the chocolate one in about fifteen minutes, that stuff is dangerously good

If you need to gain weight it will work. You’ll probably need a stool softener until you get used to it. I did this in the early 80s and did put on 20 lbs. Ofcourse my needs are much different today.

It was either that or You Can Call Me Al. I figured that sounded to much like a.i..

I wanted to swap out milk with soy milk, but it’s all garbage. Everything is loaded with sugar and other additives. I couldn’t find a single brand of soy milk in stores that doesn’t add cane sugar, even the “unsweetened” has sugar in it. I’ll stick with dairy milk. In moderation.

helloBrooklyn's picture

Studies don’t really show that to be an issue. I’m just concerned about the refined sugars. That stuff is practically poison.

Bearded_muscle's picture

They do show a connection between soy and reduced prostate issues. My close friend is a researcher specializing in prostate cancer and she says intake of soy products does help. So there has to be a legitimate hormonal element there.

Ps I’m sure any benefit would be next to nothing if one was using anabolics.
