-2 Protein bars
ad
The cleanest protien bars I’ve been able to find are the quest bars. Looking at the labels on some of the other brands, you may as well be pounding down a king size snickers. I usually have two during the work day, as it’s something that I can eat while working. I usually warm them up by sticking it in my pocket, or setting it by a warm light bulb. Them things are like rocks when cold due to the high fiber content.

TronI've also heard microwaves work well for heating things up....what, do you live in a tent? Use the bulb from your flashlight? What the hell compelled you to make this post anyways? .....man, there's been some weird posts here lately..
In a word: karma.
TronAwww... And look someone negged me..
It's all good - I plussed you.
Just stick with boogers
TronHe IS... The booger DADDY.
Alphamale500You really have be careful of which, and how many protein bars you consume. I used to eat tons of those MET-RX BIG 100 bars, until they began to raise my liver enzymes because of the very high amount of saturated fat they contain(40% DV per bar)! I was actually in the very early stages of developing NAFLD (Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease).
My doctor and I couldn't figure out what the source of the raised liver enzymes were at first, so we had to do a process of elimination. We finally realized the raised enzymes were from the very high amount of saturated fat. I would usually eat like 4 or 5 of those BIG 100 bars, a few times per day with a big glass of a milk protein shake. They tasted great, but when you add up all of that saturated fat, Whoah!! Let's say even 10 per day which I easily ate, comes out to about 400% of your daily allowance for saturated fat!
But thankfully, by restricting my consumption of anything harmful to my liver and loosing about 50lbs, my body was able to totally reverse the early stages of the NAFLD. I've brought this up before because I think it's important that ppl realize how much their overall health can be affected by these bars. I know I was eating a lot of them, but at the time I had the thinking that the more protein the better! I was obviously wrong.
These days I love to eat just a few KIND bars each day as a great source of healthy fats. I pay a lot more attention to the nutritional facts on the label now. In moderation, even the BIG 100 bars are fine. Especially the chocolate chip cookie dough and peanut butter pretzel flavors! And when you pop them in the microwave for just a few seconds. Mmmmmmm, Good!
Im looking at my MRE BAR
260 calories
29 carb
3 fiber
20 protein
9 fat.
6 sugar total. No alcohol sugars
Quest bars are not nearly as good as you think they are. I questioned the label and then I watched a friend of mine that’s a diabetic experiment with it. He would wait till he would almost hypo and he would eat a bar and he would go back to normal. But if it says it’s only 1 g of sugar how could that be? There’s a lot more sugar in there than they say there is.
Quest is very high in Sugar Alcohols and lots of other sweeteners and artificial stuff. I'll stick with Pure Protein. It does have some sugar alcohols too.
I may have to check them out
Yea. They got many different flavors too. Usually can find online for like 20 a box I think too
Yeah, the peanut butter brownie smash is my favorite. I get them on amazon for 19/box
