Pre and mid workout drinks
So for quite some time I have mixed a drink contains bcaa’s with me to take to the gym. I’ve found when doing an intense leg day or say superset day I’ll be smoked mid way and then I will guzzle it down and baddabing baddaboom I have some clean energy and recovered a bit.
My dilemma is it’s either the brand, or maybe just too much liquid, maybe even the flavor, but I can’t stand the after taste the burps or the bloat I have after drinking it.
Secondly, I stay away from stims for preworkout, usually a cup of black coffee does me best (and has more benefits). But I always have some on deck for when that 60 hour work week pouring concrete has kicked my ass.
My dilemma with this is when I take it my eyes get all weird!!! I feel like they’re going back and forth real fast and I’m all whacked out?!
Finally my question is obviously what are some of y’all doing for your pre or mid drinks? I’m up for new ideas and need to change something up.

Mega pre primeval labs stim free and a awesome pump formula
I don't like stims either. Something I'm doing right now during my workout is a 23 ounce bottle of water with a scoop of Glycofuse and a scoop of BCAA's
Mr Hyde. Or good ole cup of black
Mr. Hyde it feels really good, I got a cherry flavor that is a bit tart but it gives a nice energy boost.
I use an “natural” pre-workout, which I like and I use a BCAA drink during my workout. It works for me.
The best preworkout drink I know of is plenty of water.
Intra-workout if you are feeling gassed , try turning on the Rocky IV soundtrack
I train 1st thing in AM, and make my own with raw powders. BCAA, Citruilline Malate, Beta Alanine, Potassium, Taurine, Creatine, Karbolyn, Caffeine. Some days skip Karbolyn based on meals prior evening.
I personally like pre worouts, I work a lot, and I am on planes a lot, jet lagged is a SOB. I personally take nitraflex by GAT. During workouts I take iso-carb by MAN. Post workout is a typical whey protein followed by meal.
Intra if you really need it a Gatorade or some sugary candy. Can't do that forever though as you'll be taking a shot at your insulin sensitivity.
Black coffee
Preworkout: 1 cup of green tea, or 2 green tea caps if I’m in a hurry. And 1 tsp beta alanine.
Intraworkout: water.
I wouldn’t buy into all that BS personally. Lots of hype in the billion dollar supplement industry but no great research to support any of it. Make sure you eat a good meal 2hrs prior to your workout with a 2:1 carb to protein ratio and you’ll have a good pump without any of that garbage. You’ll save a lot of money for what’s more important anyways. Food is king.
