I Believe Vitamins And Supplements Are A Must In Bodybuilding
What's up guys? I just wanted to address the situation of how important vitamins and supplements are in the bodybuilding world. If you're going to push your body beyond it's natural capabilities, or if you just want to push your body to it's limits, than I really believe that you need to supply your body with the necessary and truly beneficial vitamins and supplements to feed the machine, and to keep your body at its optimal performing capacity. Of course foods, which supply protein, carbs, fats, and other essentials are also a major part of bodybuilding, but for this particular topic, I'm going to leave them out. AND IN NO WAY ARE THEY LESS IMPORTANT, WHICH I'M SURE EVERYONE ALREADY KNOWS THAT, BUT I'D LIKE TO JUST FOCUS ON VITAMINS AND MINERALS FOR THIS TOPIC! I usually take a mix of vitamins and supplements, three times daily, with maybe a couple more for pre-workout and post-workout. So, the vitamins and supplements that I take daily, are; 1 multivitamin and mineral, 1 time-released B-Complex wita C, 1 vitamin D:4000iu, 1 magnesium 500mg, N-A-C 600mg, Soya Lecithin 1200mg, 2 Kyolic caps twice daily, 2 Flaxseed Oil 1000mg of omega-3 plus omega 6 and 9, 2 CoQ10 100mg caps, 1 Resveratrol 100mg, Saw Palmetto Combo, 3000mg of Biotin, 2 Alpha Lipoic Acid Daily 600mg, 1 Maxium-Strength Plant Sterols, 1 Lutein 40mg, 3 Milk Thistle Extract 250mg. And before bed, I take 10mg of Melatonin and ZMA. Everything I take does play it's part in building muscle, loosing weight, and training in general. At times, I do think that this is maybe a little much to be taking everyday. I'm interested in which vitamins and supplements that some of you guys are taking while running gear! But, I've been taking this amount of vitamins and supplements for years now, and I feel exceptionally well while taking them. Everybody tells me that I look like I'm only about in my early twenties, when meanwhile I'm 36 years old! I go for bloodwork very often, and my doctor has said that it sounds like I might be overdueing it a little, but I've never had any kind of negative effects. So, in conclusion, I'd really just like to hear of some other people's vitamin and supplement regimen.

Ms WorkerBeeHow is this member allowed to publicly do this? Where is the oversight? this shred777 needs to send a photo ID to make sure he is allowed to be on here. I do not think he has mentioned anything that is related to anything but Me and his boyfriend Mike. The only thing this shred guy has mentioned is that i do not Eroid street credibility... That is the only thing i really find funny. Do you have anything to add about supplements that may or may not benefit others, or anything that could be informative? By the way the Essential forte is made in Germany their engineering is as good as the supplements. My alt or ast sorry my liver enzymes went down after 2 months of taking this. It is mostly phospholipids. Nice good fatty oils, along with vitamins to back it up. The liver is an amazing organ. It can regenerate but treat it good. A lot of toxins go in and out of there, like a filter. If i am doing something wrong here please let me know because this shred is getting me confused, saying i can not write 3 post in one part of the forum.. Now i am really confused. this is why you only have one or 2 people writing. I see. This blows

AnonNegged for spam. 3 in a row here. You're just high again yah dunce. This is also not all your typing style...it obviously contains a copy and pasted excerpt from somewhere. mikedaman you suck.
EDIT: you just searched a liver supp online to post and copy and pasted the ingredients. Another desperate attempt to earn karma for promos.
Ms WorkerBeeA really good multi vitamin besides the fruits and vegatables etc, there are some really good big liquid bottles that have all kinds of probiotics, green agae, plant based stuff, ubiquinol, good fats/oils ( lovaza is good from pcp) etc Really good multi vitamins that have about 150 different ingredients should get you going and or at least balanced out from all the antioxident stress and pollution and just plain life etc. Invest in a good vitamins like anything.
Ms WorkerBeeHey all, as our food and water quality goes down, and we push our bodies and hope to heal quick, invest in a really good multivitamin, and if you see your urine come out really yellow that is just the B vitamins coming out of your system. If you sweat a lot it is good to get electrolytes also to replenish the loss of important minerals and trace minerals. I actually feel more balanced with a really good multi. I use the liquid bottle form but that is a matter of choice.
patischofHey man! All is well. By the way, an excellent topic. I am glad that such things are discussed on forums. We need to understand the role of vitamins and eat as much food as possible that contains high doses of vitamins. Unfortunately, I am not a big lover of fruits and vegetables. That's why I take all the vitamins that fruits and vegetables contain in the form of pills. I take four capsules a day of Vitamin C, Vitamin K, and Vitamin E, and of course, Zinc. Like you, I feel lovely, always energetic, and look much younger. Always on analysis, the concentration of vitamins is perfect. I'm glad to see people take care of their health!

Who_CaresNot to be a glass half empty guy but I just don’t trust we are getting what the labels say. I bet most supplements are 100% fake. I think protein is legit and creative but all the aminos ect are questionable. Does anyone know if a site that does independent testing on Sups?
I purchased a mens multi from Puritans Pride. Took around 8am, took a dump around 6pm. This is gross, but I noticed what looked like a big puffy Cheeto in my stool?? I was curious as to what it was so I dug it out with some tweezers, rinsed it, broke it in half and sure enough it was the pill I swallowed 10 hours prior.....Not saying its fake, it passed thru my digestive system without breaking down. Maybe I need to take more probiotics.. LoL!!!!!
It works better second time around.
your fkn demented greg lol
basskiller89Personally I prefer NOW products because they are all lab tested. Also, I do not believe the supplement industry is going to sell bunk supps. It's always the ones who don't look like they lift that claim this. I use a multi from Costco lol Creatine is free gains especially on cycle I had great results. Aminos are simply branch chain amino acids, which is what protein powder is. If you are supplementing with a protein powder there is no reason to take in say 6g of bcaa when a serving of protein powder has 24g bcaa. You really need to look at the amino acid profile to compare brands. Any serious brand of protein powder already has a complete bcaa breakdown available on the websites. A lot of people rely on BCAA's for lower protein intakes as well as counting 6-18g a day toward whatever daily intakes. Also they taste good so it's whichever way you look at this
Who_CaresBass check this out. Supplement Manufacturer's cannot be trusted
http://www.ergo-log.com/lab-tests-24-higenamine-supplements.html
basskiller89I've seen these things, I'm not impressed either which way, I've seen too many odds and ends online lately
Anytime I see HG involving supplements names I'm thankful for peptides, I'll take a gear pic when I get new vials lol
Who_CaresIm with you buddy
Who_CaresI remember what Vitamin Shoppe and GNC was doing with falsifying labels and not providing and vitamins in some of their products.
ConsumerLabs.com does independent tests and reviews of vitamin, mineral, and herbal supplements.
Who_CaresThey charge for the reports. Is there any free labs?
Who_CaresThank You Hamish. I’m a believer of supplementation by nutrition but if I had some solid labs I would be onboard.
Does anyone know a good source of vitamins and supplements in the UK?Â
I buy vitamins from Sports Inside here is the link https://sportsinside.co.uk/ and at times I go to the local store as well. As far as my experience goes these guys have good price and return policy. I don't take supplements and vitamins unless Dr prescribed. Never just go with a reputable company because others have used and they had good results. It's best practice to consult nutritionist or doctor first. Good luck
multi vitamin and omega 3 is the best
Who_CaresTony you can’t go wrong with a quality Krill Oil or Flaxseed, Chia, or Hemp but I would stay away from Omega 6 they cause inflammation.
Dang, that is a lot of pills to be popping. I would never be able to keep track of it all. I remember back in the day taking that huge packet of pills that came in those Animal paks. lol. There was a time I used to take a boatload of vit/sups but now I don't take anything. Don't notice anything different other than now I don't have a wall of pill bottles lining my window sill over the kitchen sink.
JayD718Yeah, I remember those packets! Lol. You don't even take a multivitamin, or like Milk Thistle or something similiar while you're running gear? I kinda have a little OCD when it comes to my vitamin and supplement regimen, and also when it comes to my gear and ancillaries. When I'm running gear, I have to make sure that I have every possible ancillary that I may possibly need during the course of my cycle, and for after. I spend so much money on vitamins and supplements, especially because when I buy them, I always make sure that I buy the good brands. You said that you don't notice any difference, but I feel so good when I take them, even though some of it may just be mental. I figure, if they make me feel my best, whether it's just mental or not, than they're worth taking.
In specific situations I'll take specific supplements. When I am blasting mast I'll take something for my prostate like saw palmetto. When running orals I'll take Tudca and some other liver aids. When I am dropping water I'll take mega doses of vit C. When cutting I'll be drinking Machta and popping green tea pills but I don't have a supplement routine for year round use, just for specific situations. I don't eat a lot of processed foods and I get grassfed beef from my neighbor and have an ample supply of wild game and fish along with a huge garden in the summer for fresh veggies and a chicken coupe with 12 chickens for all my eggs. I think eating like that takes care of most of my supplement needs. Don't know if you are from the city or not, but city folk may not have that type of easy access to those types of foods so supplementing may very well be necessary and obviously beneficial.
If what you are taking makes you feel better than I would keep doing it. You are likely lacking in something that your supps are making up for in that situation. I just never really noticed much of a difference if any when I was taking a boatload of stuff so it was kind of frivolous for me to keep taking all that stuff.
Who_CaresI consume quite a bit of venison, rabbit, and pheasant. At least we know where it’s coning from and we know it’s 100% organic. My grandmother used to make me take her out to the country so she can pick dandelion leaves so she can make a salad. My Italian grandma she swore by its benefits.
I take fish oil, flax seed oil and one protein drink daily. I’m very brand specific on my supplements.
JayD718Yeah, me as well. You should also consider at least adding CoQ10, along with the fish and flaxseed oil. They work in a symbiotic relationship. I only take the best brands, except when it comes to certain vitamins like a multivitamin, D-3, B-Complex with C, and the rest of the standard vitamins I take, I'll buy the supermarket brands. For my supplements, and my other vitamins, I'll either buy the really good brands, or I'll get them from this very good vitamin company that has their own catalogue and website.
My stack is
1.fish oil
2. Pepcid for gastric reflux
3. Multivitamin
4. Baby aspirin
JayD718Oh, that just reminded me. I take a daily baby aspirin as well. You should think about adding CoQ10 with the fish oil. They go together so well for heart health, that an official medication was actually made with those two ingredients!
Ok will read about that. Thanks
Supplements always brings a lot of heat down on the person who is advocating them. Personally I'd love to be someone who could grow and keep all my own organic food, eat fish everyday and shove tofu up my arse. Problem is I can't, and I've tried it, all of it. I'll leave it to the perfect people with there exceptional genetics who are worlds above me.
Us mere mortals will look to supplement our balanced diets where we can in a hope to be a little more healthier, not a defining factor but even if something helps by 1% that's a lot in this life for someone like me.
My current stack is: LIV52, multi, fishoils (over a gram of each eph and dha), fiber, zinc, vit c, Lecithin, cardio and 6/8 litres of water.
All of these I can tell the difference when I'm not running them, apart from the multi which I probably piss most of it out but it's cheap and it will help some what.
JayD718The LIV is supposed to be a really good supplement, right? I heard it has a lot of ingredients for the liver, but are they in beneficial amounts? I can definitely tell the difference when I'm not on my supplements also!
I don't see none of you guys adding CoQ10 with your fish oil supplements. You gotta try it. It's amazing for your heart!
Lol, so you freely admit that you tried shoving tofu up your ass? Purely for the health benefits, huh? Seems like that should be followed up with a no homo, but to each his own I reckon
I say yolo not no homo!
I don't believe you need to take vitamins , my grandparents lived well into their 90's and they never even heard of vitamins , their diet was fresh fish and potatoes . The amount of vitamins your taking is ridiculous in my opinion.
So did your parents of grandparents take all those vitamins ? My grandparent was a big guy , muscly , never been to a gym and never heard of any vitamin so I think your vitamin theory is invalid, unless your deficient in vitamin d , c etc .
JayD718I'm not saying that you need to take these vitamins and supplements to live a long healthy life, I'm just saying that lots of them have great health benefits that are backed up by trials and scientific evidence, and can really benefit your life. If they're making me feel and perform at my best, without causing me any harm, then I don't see what's wrong with taking them. You mentioned your grandparents lived into their 90's, without taking any vitamins or supplements. Now, did they take steroids or other harmful substances, whose harmful side effects can possibly be mitigated by taking some of these supplements. I wasn't saying that everybody needs to take vitamins and supplements just to be healthy and live a long life, however, I do think that if you're using substances that can possibly be very harmful to your health, it could be in your best interest to take some kind of basic vitamins, and maybe a supplement that is specifically designed to minimize liver damage, or others that are designed for optimal heart and cardiovascular health. But, that's totally up to you. I was just curious about what kind of vitamins and supplements other people out there may be taking. Lastly, you can't determine anything regarding the health of only two people. To come to any sort of convincing data, there would have to be at least hundreds of subjects, and you would have to be able to duplicate your findings!
Lastly, would a major pharmaceutical company manufacturer it's own brand of CoQ10 and purified fish oil to treat heart conditions if it didn't have any medicinal value??
I disagree with you and I don’t believe pumping our bodies full of stuff that can come from food is healthy OR needed. I look pretty good and almost take nothing myself.
Some of my close friends overseas look amazing just from hard work and healthy food. I mean healthy from either growing it or killing it for meat. ZERO package food or grocery stores for them. Back yard grown fruit and veggies and meat from the local market killed that day with no hormones added.
I agree 100% most vitamins you take that are not delivered from food are pissed out or shit out before the body absorbs them
JayD718Yeah, some doctors and other people you read, say that only about 20% of what you take in, of most vitamins actually gets absorbed, but that's 20% more than I had before, right? But, you also have to wonder what these doctors and others, true agenda really is! However, I also take Bioperine, which is an extract of black pepper, with my vitamins and supplements to boost the absorption rate.
Currently I'm taking saw palmetto, milk thistle, multivitamin, omega 3/6/9, niacin, red yeast rice, taurine, l-citruline/l-arginine, ala, and vitamin c.
The one supplement that I'm taking that I think has the most value for me is the omega 3/6/9. If I stop taking that I can tell a difference in my vision and my skin.
JayD718Yeah, I think the omega 3,6,and 9 are very healthy for you. The Milk Thistle as I'm sure everyone knows, is supposed to be great for the liver, along with the alpha lipoic acid, and Saw Palmetto is good as an anti-DHT. So it's supposed to be great for the prostate, and I've even seen articles about it reducing the DHT in your hair follicles, so it prevents hair loss!
Eat more fish, especially ocean caught salmon, and ocean caught cod and pollack, problem solved, no need to supplement fish oil if you eat at least a 4 oz piece of fish per day
JayD718I don't trust anything out of the sea, because of all the PCB's, Dioxins, Mercury, and who knows what else is in there that could be giving us cancer or causing who knows what! I won't even take any fish oil because I don't even trust whats in that, even though the bottles of fish oil usually say on the side that they're purified of all that shit! I can't see how all the pollution, oil, plastic, chemicals, fertilizers, and who knows what the fuck else is in there, doesn't have any effects on us eating that shit or taking it in a supplement. Also, who knows what they're going to discover in fish or fish oil pills 5 or 10 years from now, that causes who knows what! Just think of all that shit in the ocean!!!
I'll give that a try. I eat fish 2-3 times per week, usually wild caught Alaskan salmon or tuna steaks. If it keeps my vision straight I'll know I'm getting enough. Without the fish oil my vision is very blurry, but with it I've got eagle eyes. Age thing I guess..... thanks for the tip.
Eat it for lunch instead of dinner or an after breakfast snack
