Experiences with protein shake and ibs
Hi guys
I struggle with ibs, bloating and acid reflux with a lot of protein shakes I’ve tried lots of types including beef isolate, mixed blends, whey isolate ,vegan ( like yogurt) mass, casien egg whites ect. I was using extreme nutrition mass which was good once stomach settled but struggling to find it now in strawberry/bannna.
According to a dna test I’m intolerant to a few things including milk brown rice and turkey.. even tho I used turkey last 4 weeks of prep with no probs apart from intense sick feelings lasting approx 2-3mins 2-3rimes a day.
Has anyone got any brands that are easy on the gut they could recommend before I start trial and error process again?
I usually add l glutamine to shake and ultra fine oats if just whey.
I’ve stopped shakes atm but would like to use again as inhave in past..morning,post training and casein b4 bed (casein causes problems if I’m already bloated if not it’s usually ok)
Thanks in advance for any advice/experience given
Tom

Drink Fairlife milk if lactose is your problem. One cup has 14g of protein so a couple of cups is a pretty good slug of protein. They also have their ready to drink protein shakes which are tasty and handy. All lactose free.
You can try beef protein. It's a good source and shouldn't interfere with you gut. You need a good brand; gotta look around it is out there.
If you go back to any kind of whey try digestive enzymes they might help.
StevebDoes raw milk mess you up? If not you can try cold pressed whey protein. Some people can't tolerate milk but are fine with raw milk.
If you have IBS then you have gut permeability. Steer clear of all eggs/dairy and common allergens & additives, despite what others are recommending. The first link has no additives, the second adds sunflower lecithin, third brand is straight vegan loaded with fiber. Also, ditch the oats.

grass fed + lecithin

I’ve got ulcerative colitis and creatine kills me. Make sure your protein doesn’t have creatine.
RustyhookerEgg protein.
Whey is isolated from milk. Casein too.
jayisktry the refrigerated pasteurized egg whites...,ones people usually cook with.
its fine to drink.
costs more but never had issues with IBS with it.
If your having issues just eat whole foods.
Blend them up for easier consumption
