What is this device called? It has potential to be awesome.

What is the accessory in the top of the vial. I've googled everything and can't seem to figure it out. I've searched:

Vial luer female adaptor
Vial dispensing tool
Multi-dose dispensing adaptor
Female luer slip vial adaptor tool

And a million variations of those phrases/words. I can find shit that's close, but can't find that.

Looks like it had the potential to cut down on waste and more importantly, save you from the potential of chipping a piece of stopped into the oil after you've drawn from the same vial more than 10-15 times.

Anyone know? Or anyone use it and am I wasting my time trying to figure it out because they have negative drawbacks that I'm not thinking of? Like am I just adding something else that could get contaminated? Not sure how you'd keep that clean in all of the crevasses. Maybe it sucks but it at least looks cool.

Any experience?

Any updates?

Yes! I actually heard back directly from the guy in a PM. They're called vial spikes. If you google "vial spikes" the first result under "shopping" is the exact one he has in the pic, from the place he gets them. They're like $2 a piece. I might grab one or two to see if I like it. He says he loves them.

They are used in the medical field. Not really worth the bang they cost

It's close. I did find some things close like that but are just drawings and no place to buy it. And the guys looks like a smaller insertion and has a cap. It could be it though for sure. Or at least another brands. Maybe I should be putting swan lock into the search instead of luer?

Here's a link with a picture. Looks like a lot more then the guys, and the pin is so long. Also for that price I'll stick with regular pins lol

We're getting close though

You invert the vial and hook it directly to the lV line.

It's for people who have developed a steroid addiction.

Lol. Wakka wakka!

He is correct though its an IV connector. You connect the screw in portion to the needle/hose that is supposed to be used for intravenous. Change your search to that

They are expensive and not reusable.

100.00 for 50.

There it is!!!

Yea I didn't think they'd be reusable. That's way too much money for what's essentially just a semi-fun gadget (for our use anyway)

Good find. Thanks

I bet he works at a hospital or knows someone. You can buy the cap seperately but its still open to the elements because its to be used within 24 hours. They use those for flu shot clinics or where they do a lot of shots in a day. My friends mom had those for her morphine when she was dying from cancer. It connected to her iv and it controlled the vial dose.

Yeah it looks like it screws onto a syringe. Interesting

333's picture

Looks like a deal that you leave on your vile and just pull off that strait into your syringe so you don't have to use a 18g to pull and then switch to a 23 to pin that's what it looks like to me

DfromPhilly's picture

Yea I think that's exactly what it is. I'm just trying to figure out what it's called so I can google it and see if it's worth picking up. Cool concept, but does it stay steril? Etc

333's picture

Yeah I just tried to Google the hell out of it couldn't find squat hopefully someone here will know what it's called I'm interested as well

Got an update. See my reply to grawrruff up top.

I friend requested the guy that posted the pic a couple days ago. I'll let you know if I can get a hold of him. I gave up on him accepting bur you never know. Maybe I'm just too impatient.
