Nutrition - Martial arts and bodybuilding

ad

I read that a martial artist training for a competition does not need to eat like a bodybuilder. When training so intensely it's easy to lose track of your calorie intake and not eat enough. A diet consisting of 50% carbs, 30% protein and 20% fat is ideal to begin with. Be sure to monitor your energy levels and adjust your split accordingly. Often the training that goes into a fight is upwards of 25 hours per week. Without enough carbohydrates in the diet, the martial artist would never make it through such a high volume of training. It too should be monitored closely. If you begin losing weight unintentionally, increase your calories slowly (200-300) until you're able to maintain your weight. Protein is still important, but complex carbohydrates are even more so.
How to reach the right combination and do both of sport healthly.?

first off, you need to find youre weight class, where you feel good before you make a diet.
if i were you i would drop weight to 205 before a fight. thats means you would fight in light heavyweight division if you do mma.
but its important to know for youreself if you feel good with 216.if you feel good just bear up youre weight and do the things you always do.

every martial artist drop weight before a fight at least if the martial artist is smart enogh.
but it depends on you i would try to drive youre weight 1 week before the fight on 210 and for the last 5lbs
i would dehydrite my body just a little bit. when the weight in is in the mornin one day before you dont drink anything and go into the sweatbath. with 5lbs that wouldnt take long in the sweatbath.
for example ronda rousey looses 10kg ( i thinks thats around 17lbs) in the sweatbath before the weight ins.

it all depents on you what you want.

sorry for my bad english.
if you have any questions just write me.
i hope it was a little help for you

cheers buddy.

Not sure what martial arts you're referring to, but the mma fighters that I personally know are all trying to drop weight prior to a fight. One guy that I know used to be a ufc fighter, he goes from 265 off season and cuts to 205 at weigh in, then carbs/waters up to about 225 fight night. There is definitely an art to his diet and training. It doesn't make sense to me to do it that way, but hey, he's the pro not me.
