Any collectors here? Sports memorabilia, cards, figures, etc?

Checking to see if there are any avid sports memorabilia collectors, cards, figures, autographs. Or any other types of collections that's a hobby of yours.

I have signed international rugby stuff. Signed team photos from the main teams like new Zealand , Australia , England including signed jerseys and signed boot bags from individual players. Regarding baseball cards the guy who wants to sell them get them appraised. Most might only be worth a few $ but there might be a rare gem in there worth 1000's of $

I am pretty sure I have a huge box full of cards from the 80's. I used to collect NFL, NBA, and MLB cards... I have wondered if people still buy them cause I could use some extra cash.

Ain't nothing wrong with that! I've noticed my gear pile starting to grow quite a bit.

I still like baseball cards. I have made a little bit of money selling them. I buy low and sell high

I haven't sold any in a while, I've been buying and collecting for a long time, I'm talking 10's of thousands of cards, all sports, I'm thinking of starting to get rid of some. I'm getting older and my kids have absolutely no interest. If something was to happen to me my wife would have a yard sale or throw them away or something. She has no idea of the value of some of the things I got.

That's a mighty collection. There are still some valuable stuff out there. I have some Miguel Cabrera minor team sets which can get me whatever my asking price is plus other great rookies past and present. I love cards, my goal initially was to be a baseball player and to get my own card but I came up a bit short. I love playing and watching the game.

I hear ya, I got a tryout with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, batting practice was good, fielding was good, what got me was my speed, I don't remember the distance, but it had to be ran in under a certain amount of time, and I was just under a few tenths of a second for the minimum speed for middle infield. Was crushed. Still am to this day. But life goes on.

Now that you mentioned that, I worked a couple years for a vending company, you wouldn't believe the different types of currency I collected in those years. People put all kinds of shit in vending machines. Lol

Does gear count? Jk, I used to collect starting lineups but they aren't worth shit now

Yeah, same here, been collecting anything sports related since I was a kid, still adding to my collection. Not many card shops around like when I was a kid. Only way to do anything with these items is finding big card shows and ebay.

Man I love card shows....it's too bad stuff isn't worth as much as it was it was a decent side business

Definitely not a popular hobby with the kids these days. Some of things are still worth good $, finding the people who's looking for certain items is the hard part.
