1 week out from powerlifting comp (gear/diet/weight cut) -Talk
So im curious whats some of yere approaches coming up towards a powerlifting comp (of any level) In terms of
-how do you work your gear in the week leading up to it
-Protocol for weigh in / carb and mineral refuel (do you use ghrp6, or any glucose disposal agents even?)
-What is your diet like that week / what is it like if weight has to be cut?
Simple topic but will be good to get an insight into what other people do
ALSO please state what level you are be it Elite, International, national or a recreational powerlifter
Leave the egos at home and be honest, your not elite if your squatting 600lbs single ply at 198lbs, elite in my eyes is some one who competes at pro comps wins cash and actually places top 3 in an extremely competitive comp is elite (thats just my opinion but i think alot of people will agree more than welcome to debate it also)

I am by no means elite , guess you can say recreational , have competed numerous times . I had to cut weight once during the last week to go into a lighter class , it was the worst thing for me , Day of meet had no energy , looked An felt like absolute shit. Never cut last minute again. As far gear I'll run it all the way up to event , add in halo the last week up to the show An day of for the agression. I will do a shot tne shortly before goin on , if I can get it . Diet is consistent while training An day of , can't do the whole sugar water thing , spikes my insulin an I get weak. That's just me though
Irish pretty much covered it.. a couple days before I would start my carb loading and conginue right up to the day of the meet. Irish used gummy bears I used sugar water and sipped on it between events to keep my glucose levels up. Eat a light breakfast but make sure what you eat will stick with you and not bloat you either , I liked oates and eggs and cottage cheese with jelly mixed in
Honey mixed with water is my intra comp fav.. probably unorthodox to most but where im from a fry up consisting of bacon eggs pudding and sauasage along with pancakes and oats is the popular choice has faired me well throughout the years especially when the comp is a long ass one day event.. only thing that would bother me would be the rise in BP from all the sodium thats about it
In my heyday I was 550 bench, 800 dead 750 squat 500 c and j. Best trophy was 2nd place and 1500.00 Leading up to my meet I was on nothing because I was doing all natty meets. Im just a strong little fucker. 2 days before a show I lowered my protein and increased my carbs. The day before i was doing straight glucose during my lifts. An hour before my show I ate a whole bag of haribo gummy bears, the ones that use dextrose as the main ingredient. That and a popper pushed me like no drug could. Gymjunkie is a monster fuck so he could give you some good pre show prep, I have been out of the game since tearing my shoulder tendon.
As the good lord says theres no such thing as drug free, only drug tested feds lol but jokes aside those are some wicked natty lifts thanks for the share was hoping to get experiences with regards to intra comp nutrition appreciate that!
Thats what makes or breaks you, I watch guys eat chicken nuggets an hour before the meet, some were shoveling down ice cream. One guy was drinking sugar water like gymjunkie does. I was natty because back then I wasnt ready for aas, now im on trt so things have changed. Now at my weightclass I would get my ass handed to me if it was not tested lol. All drugs aside the make or break will be your diet the week of and right before the meet. Just be careful of the weigh in.
That ain't chicken in those nuggets lmao
That guy was 300 pounds and had no neck. His traps were the size of 2 small mountains. I believe he did a 900 dead like he was picking up a kitten. Maybe they werent nuggets of chicken, nuggets of halo or mtren.
I do miss those days, I met so many interesting people when I lifted. Hanging out at the atlas stones, rolling guys in the tires down the street.
It's deff a different culture bunch of ruff necks lol
My phone is double posting arrgggg
.
Blast n' CruiseHey man! Hope I can help you a little bitski!
I am an "elite" powerlifter (not that that means shit).
My best lifts are: 242: 670 squat 407 bench 737 deadlift 210-220: 589 squat 437 bench 727 deadlift
I am shooting for 1850 @220 in sleeves this August. So I have a slight amount of knowledge and credibility.
Drugs: Leading into the meet the gear will be increased week by week, with meet week being your highest dosages. Orals are added in 4-10 weeks out ussually and increased as you get closer. This meet I will be on 2-3 orals and 2 injectables.
My stack:
100mg of Winny ed
100mg Dbol ed
100mg Drol ed
1g Tren E
125mg Test E
I don't recomend this stack, but for my goals this is best suited.
Diet: You can keep your diet pretty much the same as usual if you don't have to do a crazy water cut. On meet day eat small meals between each event, nothing greasy or shitty. steak, rice, chicken and veggies.
Drink lots of water as you progress through the meet to stay hydrated.
Water cut: You can find good cutting protocols online to cut anywhere from 10-30lbs before a meet. Diuretics like lasix are super common from what I have seen. After you make weight get some pedialite into you and a bit of sodium to reload your body.

PM me if you have any questions brother!
I've had enough of you.
RustyhookerDamn...
Lmfao that stack is so fucking retarded
Dont mean to sound condescending but i know what im doing wasnt really looking for newbie advice (sounds harsh but thats the truth) just wanted to see how other powerlifters approached the 1 week out mark
I myself would look at that and think thats abit ott for the level your at but then again thats just my opinion every man to there own
Thanks for the share
I cant. I just cant fkn see your advice anymore. So much drugs. You are going to kill yourself or someone else with your advice. Go the fuck away because now I think you are trolling.
A gram of tren
Dbol
Drol
Whinny
That's one of the dumbest cycles I've ever seen
You have no business giving cycle advice
Wow, calls himself an elite powerlifter. Elite drug user is all I see.
Yeah I read that and then looked at his stats smh
Slin talk is a forbidden topic here please edit that out of your post .
Appoligies are GDA's an okay topic to talk about?
Your good now brother
