+ 2 Trt with deca, falsely elevated test levels......and pregnancy

ad

Hey Guys,

I just wanted to drop some knowledge on ya'll who are on trt, and have routine blood work. This topic has been discussed before, however, I haven't seen substantiated evidence.

I'm on rx trt, 140mg cyp/week, along with 400iu hcg 2x/week. This is monitored twice per year by my MD, and keeps my test levels between 7-800, and E2 between 35-40; I feel good with my E2 being at this level, rather than the 20-30 that I can get to when using ADEX. Anyway, from time-to-time, I add a bit of deca or mast e, to make life fun. I usually keep the doses between 200-300mgs, and always get slow, nice gains.

Long story short, I chanced it last time, and got my blood work whilst on 200mg/week of deca. My test results showed >1500....fuck. As recommended in prior posts, I requested the more specific, F Eqlib+T LC/MS test, which showed my test levels at 716. I had to come clean with my MD, and let him know I was taking deca. He was cool, and just suggested I stop; no biggie.

Anyway, for those who want to add deca, just be aware that it will show a false number.

Also, I accidentally got my girl pregnant. I kinda, sorta assumed that being on trt, even with hcg,the pullout method would be adequate......I was wrong.

I'm sharing what I've heard from an RN friend of mine, and although I think the info is accurate, this is not an invitation for anyone reading what I'm about to type to simply go out and say, "well, Zeus said I'd be OK, so what the hell?!?!" Be smart, y'all know how to avoid getting pregnant. That said, here we go.

I personally had my vasectomy done after our second child was born, and I've been shooting blanks since. However, my RN friend told me, "there's still a super small chance that even with a vasectomy, you can get a girl pregnant. The only sure way to be shooting blanks forever is to be on TRT and stay on it forever." This wasn't information that I was searching for, but rather just info that was shared openly in conversation regarding pregnancy. I have no info on how long a person has to be on TRT, or what dosage, etc. So to anyone reading, please don't take this as gospel.

Kobra, thank you for your post. You mentioned below in a comment that this isn't the time to start a family, and I commend you for your transparency and honesty. I hope other men can read about your experience and make decisions accordingly in their own lives and contexts based on your candid sharing here. I'm also rooting for you, and I thank you for sharing that nugget about using Deca. +1 Cheers brother!

This goes into a little more detail on the testing.

Tbh, I was only using hcg for the aesthetics. The small nut look, without it, is pretty hilarious. We’d known each other for 4 years, but only hooked up once, 2 months ago, and bam. Although we are together, and doing great, we decided against conception at this time; sorry if that offends anyone.

I always imagined I’d have to come off trt to conceive. Although this wasn’t a great way to find out, I’m glad to know that this is not the case.

Thanks for the kind words.

The test method called eclia gives the false results. Using the method lc/ms gives the correct result.

We had a member here called Mega that pulled up the research on why.

So while on decca one test said 716 and one said 1500+? Just trying to figure it out I have only ever hear of test raising test on bloods

Its the same problem people have running tren . It shows high estro. Like crazy high. Have to have special blood work to get the facts straight. Nandrolones are a strang critter.

Ogmudbone62113's picture

Sounds like it brother anything that can make a dude make milk is def a strange critter lol

Bill G's picture

Need to figure out what they read when the wrong test is taken. So people can see if thier deca/tren is legit.

Kobra's picture

Yeah, not sure exactly what it shows up as. Fortunately, I’d heard if this phenomenon before, and knew to ask for the specific. It’s a shame, I love the nandros, and was hoping it was an urban legend to show the false high.

Private-MD labs has a test that includes prolactin . It will read test and estro correctly. Its a little more than the regular femal panel. but if some one is running deca or tren it will read correctly. Im interested in doing both at the same time then compare the results just to see what is what. If that makes sense. Would have to do it over a couple cycles. One with just test , one with test (same lab) and deca then one with test and tren. And probably have to have another person do the same for reference.

Yea to bad its stopped out at 15 if not maybe we could have a little idea

Kobra's picture

Yes, the standard one that I get showed my test at > 1500. The 2nd one, the specific one, showed it as 716.

Bill G's picture

Greater than 1500. The test caps at 15. Wonder what it would have said had it not

That's crazy man, thanks for sharing this. May have to wait on one of the vets to chime in

Well done on getting her prego mate.
Cheers
There always a cha cw that may happen. Trt or just beeing in juice is not 100% baby proof method.

And my doc was not so happy when I told him "I may want to use gear", he told me to find another doc.

Yep. They generally don't care for that at all. I had to explain a 467 igf-1 reading earlier this year. He wasn't happy when I told him where it came from. I stopped seeing him to avoid any problems w/my insurance.
