Strongest person you've ever met?

ad

A buddy and I were having a conversation about retard strength and it got me thinking about all the fucking cavemen out there that can lift unimaginable weight like it was nothing. I'm curious of the people who have witnessed these monsters in person.

My story, I was working out at a worlds gym known to house some of the biggest mofos I've ever met, I'm not a little guy by any means but walking in there I felt like the skinny kid hiding my shame under a XXXL sweater.
Well this one burly white guy walks in, nothing to impressive, round belly, arms didn't look that big, had no neck, I figured he was a power lifter off the bat. He jumps in with some other guys that are benching and repping out 4 plates. He takes one plate off and warms up at 315 for about 25 reps, this was just the beginning of my mind fuck. He takes about a minute break and tosses on another plate and reps out about 20 more. Now he starts taking the standard long breaks and I continue my workout. I come back about 45 min later and he's still benching, they're up to 6 plates on each side now. I watched the first big guy go for it and he hit's it once with 2 spotters on each end. the next day fails so they drop it to 5 plates and he busts out 2, then butterbean jumps in. 7 plates, 10 reps easier than I put up 225. They were using heavy duty bars but even those stay perma bent after that much weight has been put on them. I asked the guy if he competes and he doesn't, claimed his max bench to be around 900+ which I have no doubts about. The only thing I could think of was if this guy grabbed on to someone, he could probably rip them in half with his bare hands. That there is brute strength.

Hit me with some stories guys, I need something to dream about at night.

Maybe not the strongest guy I met, but most definitely the scene that had the most impact as I remember it vividly.

Close to 20 yrs ago first day of college being walked through the weight room with my football coach. I knew I was hot shit as an all stater, and full ride scholarship D Lineman. Looked over at the bench press and saw a man probably 28 yrs old, readying himself under 5 wheels for a set. Not sure how many he pumped out, like to say it was at least 8. I do remember him not having a spotter, and the wheels clanging together as the bent bar bobbed up and down.

I asked my coach who the hell is that guy? He answers thats our outside linebacker. WTF? Immediate sense of reality hit me like a ton of bricks at that moment, i will not be dominating like I did in high school....Im gonna have to work for this. Shit got real. He was a good player, but I later learned that gym strength doesnt always equate to field strength......was still a sight to see for an arrogant 18yr old overly confident in his size and ability....

Seen stronger since, but at that time I was amazed and terrified at the same time.

Saw Brian shaw and Zydrunas Savikas live in action at the Arnold this year. Hell of an amazing roster, Halfthor Bjornson and Eddie hall competed also. The feats of strength they've accomplished is astounding.

Damn , 7 plates for 10, that's pretty insane, what's even more mindboggoling is the 900pd bench WTF 900 pound? That's pretty insane, damn Im at 3 plates and half , and I fail on my 5th rep , so for comparison as lot more then double my strength, he'll I mean 900 pound is insane for bench....

My best bench was 450 2 times, when I was 26%BF! The leaner I get, the more it drops. 900 pounds is more then some of the pro deadlifters wearing a bodysuit and arching. Biggest benchpress in the world was 1102 pounds set in 2013 by Paul Meeker, 5' 8" 320 pounds noone came close yet. Eric Spoto 5' 11" 313 pounds was 722 pounds without a bench shirt and just wrist wraps and belt same year. And that is the record. 900 pounds raw seems a little bullshit and I've been to quite a few Pro meets and been to a lot of power gyms and I never see high numbers like that. Not saying it is BS; but I am skeptical at best.
