Meat allergy from a tick bite

I'd seen this one a few times but really just now read up on it. It's bite apparently causes an allergic reaction within the body to red meat.
I'm sure I speak for most of us, but that would completely fuck my life up

Ticks are nasty. I have had Ehrlichiosis twice and lyme disease once. Now I have to worry about damn meat allergies.

That's how I feel about cats. I had cat scratch fever in my early 20's. the lymph nodes in my armpit swelled to almost a golf ball size. When the doc said cat scratch fever I thought he was drunk quoting nugent songs. He said another 2 weeks and it would have paralyzed me.
I'm stuck with reactive lymph nodes now. Pollen, a cold, and even too much ba in test sets them off and I feel like I have the flu. They swell up and push on my spinal nerves and give me body aches. Nasty creatures.

my sister in law has this. She used to go hunting with my brother in law and was bit.. It took so long for the doctors to finally figure out what it was. Its such a life style change. More then just don't eat red meat. She always looked good and still does but at the same time you look at her and think ok she needs about 10 to 12 pounds on her.

However, monkeys, apes, and humans don’t make alpha-gal on their own

Ok so the article is saying no reaction if you eat bush meat or are a cannibal.

Good to know.
