+ 5 The importance of getting LABS done before self administering AAS to cure what ails you

ad

I see quite a few posts regarding women's libido and two things really stick out to me. The first is that almost all the entries are made by men and the second is hardly any mention is made regarding getting labs done.

There are so many factors that affect a woman's libido, not just lack of a hormone(s). The first step in correcting a low libido is getting labs done, having a comprehensive test done to include everything including liver/kidney functioning, cholesterol, mineral levels (especially magnesium, which is essential part of processing that which is released by the endocrine system) testosterone levels, thyroid, free thyroid, and the big three, estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone.

Getting labs done rules out the physical basis for any issues that one might have including but not limited to: issues sleeping, irritability, memory loss, weight gain, weight loss, dry skin, edema, and the important one for the men, low libido.

Once labs have been done and the physiological aspects have been ruled out, it is time to look at other issues. Today's expectations placed on women are much greater than in the past. Women are expected to work, take care of the household duties, watch the children, take care of her man, etc, etc, etc. Add to this the stress of a difficult job, dislike of a job, feeling over whelmed, wanting to have sex or be physically intimate just doesn't make it to the top of the list. Not to mention that for women (as has been pointed out) the menstrual cycle also plays a big role in a woman's libido.

People want to rush in and say "throw some test prop at her" but the issue is that adding testosterone may address a symptom and the physiological aspect but not the emotional aspect. If you haven't noticed, when it comes to sex, women are emotional creatures, we have to "FEEL" like it. If we don't feel in tune with our man or our lives are hectic and we are thinking about what we have to do later or in the morning, having sex isn't going to make it to the list of priorities.

Suggesting that a woman use caber to treat low libido is just downright inexcusable especially without knowledge of labs. Prolactin levels are balanced by progesterone and dopamine. Messing around with caber would/could be disastrous as the cause is usually a tumor.

The real issue here is that we cannot solve "problems" by throwing a substance at it without finding the cause.

Thank you again for this info. I am working on my first post and was happy that I had both pre and interim labs done Smile

Removed as probably better addressed elsewhere.
Thanks

Great read and totally agree with the importance of getting your lab work done. Over the course of the last several months, I've felt a noticeable difference in my drive and influx of emotions and I'm looking for the best approach to getting my levels checked and pursue any necessary correction. I'm hesitant in healthcare practitioners questioning my request. Is there a specific name for the comprehensive test to get? How do I go about getting my labs done logistically?

you can use privatemedlabs.com and or I think quest labs and request a female hormone panel they are about 60$

Thanks GRRL!

Without a caring partner and selfless partner, no amt of aas can make a woman horny. It's all about the before and the after!

I plan to get blood work done before starting hgh, I found a lab but what am I asking them for exactly? Should I just tell them I want to check my hgh levels? I want to go in before I start to have a baseline, and then again after I've been on it for a month or two. (that's my current plan any lol )

I am happy to hear that your wife is on the upside. I ve run doses at 50-100mg e3d however, it should be painfully obvious that I am looking for performance results and not just an increase in libido. Starting with 10mg e3d seems to be a pretty standard place for most women looking for an increase in libido to start.

My question is though why not go to a doctor that specializes in hormone replacement for women? Low estrogen and progesterone levels certainly play a part in the lack of libido in addition to low T. Why not at least explore that avenue as well? I understand that I don't have all the info and given that she had a brain tumor doctors may be very reluctant to prescribe estrogen and progesterone replacement.

Just out of curiosity. What would 10mg of prop e3d do for a woman? Pros and cons?

kodiakGRRL's picture

I have to chuckle a bit when I read statements put out by medical personel.. Those statements are made to cover thier ASSES in court and really have very little basis in reality. I can recall when Goth was using testim and all the warnings about what would happen though incidental contact with someone else.. quite ridiculous really when a tube of 50mg only had 5mg of test in it..

10mg of prop e3d should raise her libido quite nicely and give her a feeling of wellbeing ... I can personally attest to it and so can several other women here.

Is this something that can be done long term? Or is it something that should be cycled? If so how long? Sorry for picking your brain. The subject grabbed my attention for some reason Smile

Great post. Thanks KodiakQueen.
As a newbie I am really amazed at the amount and complexity of information flying around on here. Life is really no different and just finding the time and energy for sex gets harder as our lives become more complicated, not to mention our physiology.

i couldnt agree any more .hormone levels will have effects on women a lot

Nice one K-Q. Sorry I had a bit of a hand in the 'libido' talk. But we're def. getting bloods first before anything.

Hey... these are our loved ones after all ;)

So true Queen! Without labs we don't have a solid footing to make a semi educated crack at self medicating. Really there are very few people outside of Drs who have the extensive knowledge base to even attempt a guess. But at least with accurate levels thru bloods we can begin our search for answers. It's funny u mention how a woman has to feel in the mood. Cuz when I was younger I didn't get that. Completely oblivious. Once I finally understood how important it was to my wife I started going the extra mile. And with my wife it's the little things. Sometimes it's a gift or maybe a nice text during the day. Hell sometimes it's me doing the dishes or the laundry. Point is now our sex life is better than ever and we don't make love as much as when we were younger. But it's the quality of it that more than makes up for it. Great post Queen!!! Hopefully ur first sticky!!! +1

Good stuff. I wish more people understood this. Men & women are completely different. I myself am ready to go anytime/anywhere. Women as you said need to be "in the mood". Having children can also bring on big changes.
