+ 1 Water retention

ad

I prepared for several months for several body competitions that ended September 15th, I currently looks like a big barrel ...that's why I allow myself to disturb you to know your techniques to fight against water retention?

thanks ;)

Water retention begins to leave me !!!!! not completely but it's getting better and I thank you for it.

It allows me to train in full body and not to undergo this congestion so painful.

I will continue on the diet that I currently hold and I will adjust thereafter to start on a mass "clean" because large mass catches do not succeed me.

Hi everyone, I hope you are well.

Before detailing a little more my evolution, I wanted to thank you for your advice ;)

I lost about 9lbs since I reduced hydrates and I drink a lot more than before, I did not know the incidence of vitamin C on water retention but the results are there, so thank you again.

even if I'm far from being "fit" and having the competition line at the moment, it allowed me to take full advantage of the personal posing court that my sweetheart offered me in Switzerland last Sunday with ... Nicolas Vuilloud.I learned a lot from him and he is really someone very simple, humble and realistic

Next step: continue for a week to train in full body, lose another 8lbs and thereafter I will try to stabilize my weight to make some mass "clean" before tackling the preparation for the season 2019

Vit c (powder: +/- 1oz per day take in 3 times) and lot of water seems to work, thank you very much guys.

I will continue this way a few more days and I will make a more detailed message.

High dose vitamin c and bromelain.
Obviously bloods and check and adjust accordingly.

I know its not a long term solution but after shooting some Winny injectable for a few days I end up pi**ing out every last bit of water in me lol ..

Like others said Makwa has you covered, but go easy on the salt!

I believe makwa a couple posts below got you covered!! Going from a comp diet to bulk is not good for you and not only for water retention!!

dextetherdog's picture

-Elevated female hormone levels (blood work)
-Nutrition aspect and overeating
-Reverse dieting after competition is a great idea
-Reverse cardio ( continue after comp but slowly going down) after competition
-use of diuretic and rebound effect

No matter with blood test results.

For comps, in France, there are 2 "parts" of season, one in spring and a second in autumn / winter.

I participated in the first part with 3 comps in a row and I thought I could participate in the second part (with 3 comps) but the head said "no": /: /: /

I think that it comes mainly from the long period of restriction then from being passed without transition to a period "without limits / without question" at the level of the food.

Normally, I do not have the habit of salting my food, but since I had 15 days of "pleasure", the sodium intake was not controlled (prepared dishes, restaurants, .. .)

It can be a beginning of explanation.

For the moment, I try to find a much healthier diet by limiting the carbs and hydrating a lot.

P.s: excuse me again if my english is not very good

Bearded_muscle's picture

Did you use any diuretics?

l.pergolet's picture

I thought about it but I prefer to avoid, after long months of preparation, I think that a return to "calm" is not a bad thing

10g vitC and dandelion root.
Did you restrict sodium for competitions? You are likely experiencing a rebound from your competition diet to eating a normal diet. Back off on the carbs a bit and get in that vitC.

l.pergolet's picture

for the first time on my (little) competitor life, I did not rebound.

I am an amateur who is not followed by any coach and my little experience, I recognize that a rebound with balance sodium / potassium gives much better results

I see you have another post about your bulking diet. That is your problem there like I thought. Going from competition diet straight into a big bulk. You need to let thing normalize a bit after a comp. You are going from one extreme to the other which is a big a shock for the body. Get on just a maintenance diet or just a slight caloric surplus for a month to give your body a break and let all your hormones get back to normal but don't jump straight into a big bulk. You are just throwing things even more out of whack.

thanks ;)

Urban dictionary defines it as "Only the most round-house kicking, terrorist killing, freedom-loving dip there is. Made from all-natural American tobacco with a flavor that tastes like liberty."

Should say that on the can
