Midnight snack

ad

Yo bros,

I don't know about you guys but I often wakeup in the middle of the night craving food!

I usually will try a drink as much water as I can to fill myself up ( I'm trying to cut BF a little) but if I can hold back the urge ill pound a protein shake.

What are some of your midnight snacks
??

I keep a small stack of those Ensure meal replacements that they give to old people by my bed side. 30g prot, 2g fat, 5 carbs, 160cal and all the vitamins and minerals you can shake your stick at. They are pretty filling, I down it when I wake up starving in the middle of the night and go right back to sleep.

LOL "the meal replacement they give to old people?"

Yes. The nurses at the home give me 2 bottles of Ensure along with my Depends every night just before tucking me in... God I love Obamacare!

A massive tablespoon of peanut butter, with a bit of honey on it, puts me right back to bed like a lullaby.

I try to keep some chicken thighs in the fridge. They're not as lean as breast meat, but they are more juicy. I can't eat cold chicken breast as it usually tastes to dry. I think it's good to keep protein in your body through the night to keep anabolic. I wake up 2-3 times a night to piss and at least one of those times I'm ravenously hungry. Trouble is, I'm also dead tired and almost sleep walking. If I don't have some instant ready to eat protein source I end up doing something stupid like eating half a block of cream cheese. In the middle of the night I just don't have the reasoning ability to figure out that taking huge bites off a cream cheese bar is a bad idea.

Hahaha that had me laughing hard, I can just picture a half awake zombie slopping away at a cream cheese stick as if it were a snickers.

I'd laugh too if it wasn't me. It's sad but true bro!

Berries, Low fat yogurt, Bananas.. they contain Tryptophan, (an amino acid) which is used to make serotonin (great for a good sleep). You could also have cherries, they boost melatonin levels Smile
