+ 5 Ibuprofen - Cause of Eczema and Brown Urine - Solved

ad

I posted on one of the source Q&A forums about a year ago regarding an experience with brown urine. It was quite unsettling. I had been running Superdrol for the first time along with Tren. I was on relatively low-moderate doses of each. I was taking normal precautions and running liver protections, drinking plenty of fluids. Once I discontinued using each of them, all symptoms stopped.

Out of concern for my health, I began seeing my doctor, then a urologist and under went numerous tests, scans, blood work, etc. looking for potential issues with kidneys, or urinary tract. Everything was normal and we ultimately passed it off as unexplainable, but then healthy.

About six months passed, my bloods were all good, so I decided to try the Superdrol again, at an even lower dose. Within a week, my urine was brown again. I discontinued use immediately and all symptoms cleared up within 24 hours.

I passed it off as either I was sensitive to Superdrol, or I had received a tainted batch, because I could find no other answers.

Fast forward another six months, and I decided to try Anadrol again, as I'd always had good luck with it, with few negative sides or blood work. I upped my normal liver support to 2000mg/day TUDCA, 4xLiv52/day and 2000mg/day NAC. Not even a week went by and I had the absolute worst and darkest rust colored urine to date. This time I didn't drop the Anadrol, and here's why:

I have been using ibuprofen at 800mgs prior to lifting, four times a week for about the last 3 years to help combat joint pain. My doctors were all aware of this and have said it was fine. However, I grabbed a new box of ibuprofen right around the time I had the latest bout of brown urine, and noticed some new warnings. This influenced me to do further research. What I found suggested that long-term use of ibuprofen and other NSAIDs could lead to something called Toxic Hepatitis. This is basically inflammation of the liver caused by long-term exposure to a toxin, and an environment where additional hepatoxic substances like oral steroids is a recipe for disaster.

Furthermore, I also learned that long-term ibuprofen use can cause skin disorders such as "rashes". I've been dealing with a progressively worsening condition that my current dermatologist is calling eczema, for about the last three years. I've seen numerous dermatologists trying to find relief and understand what's causing it. I've been prescribed increasingly stronger medications that have little to no effect. These doctors are also all aware of my NSAID use, and not one has suggested any connection, just more tests and more drugs.

Anyway, after learning all of this information, I immediately discontinued all NSAID use, and within a week for the first time in years my skin is finally clearing up on its own. While still on the Anadrol my urine has also been perfectly normal. I also just got my latest blood work results back today and they've never been better inside of memory. My liver enzymes are the absolute lowest I've ever seen them with AST at only 25 and ALT 44, BUN is only 11, Creatinine only 1.14, all while on 75mgs of Anadrol (plus 750/wk of sust) and getting drawn the day after max effort lifting. I seriously couldn't be happier with my blood work.

The moral of this story is FUCK NSAIDs.

I searched, and searched for answers to my problems to no avail for a very long time. I paid doctors thousands and thousands of dollars and came up empty handed. I really hope my story helps save someone else the misery I've been living with all because of a simple, OTC drug doctors assured me was OK at the dose and frequency I was taking. We all need to be very aware of everything we put into our bodies. Take extra precautions, and be safe!

Didn’t read any of this but shit is bad for you.

Not only that but NSAIDS BLOCK ANABOLISM. Inflammation is a natural trigger for muscle growth. Lower the inflammation response with ibuprofen? You will lower your body’s growth response to the stimulus.

If you’re at the point you need to take drugs to get your joints through your workout (and you’ve already done things like modify your routine and exercises to limit joint stress) then I would look into low dose deca. 200 mgs a week. I’m not telling you to do this but I know if it was that or not be able to work out anymore I’d take the deca and the long term effects that will go along with it. Mostly LVH over the long run.

I've run NPP in the past which definitely seemed to help. I may try to add a little deca at some point, but first I'm going to try turmeric. It seems to have a very solid reputation for reducing inflammation and pain, just a little more mildly than NSAIDs and takes a bit longer to work, but it's worth a shot.

Awesome! I'll check it out. Thanks!

Good post! NSAIDS are very dangerous in many ways. Most people are totally unaware of the issues they can cause including GI problems, the problems you mentioned, aspirin can cause excessive bleeding and Tylenol causes liver failure in moderate doses. That's why the FDA limited the amount of Tylenol in Viodin to 325 mg from 500 mg. +

Thanks. Yes, I am admitting a bit of naivety here. What frustrates me the most is my doctors approved its use while I had symptoms that should have been linked to it. I'm always trying to be safe, take tons of precautions, and am absolutely the most vocal among my lifting groups about safety and AAS. I even work with an Endo for my AAS use, and this still slipped through the cracks. The irony is a little embarrassing.

NSAIDS and most prescription anti inflammatory drugs are very kidney toxic.

I never had any negative kidney side effects. My creatinine was 1.32 at the highest when all this started. That's a couple ticks above of the upper threshold, but still considered normal for athletes on high protein diets. Otherwise, all kidney function has been normal, and was confirmed by kidney specific blood work, ultra sounds, bladder scope, and CT scan. Kidneys have been in tip top shape. Liver enzymes at the initial onset were very high, however, but came down very quickly once I had stopped the Superdrol and Tren. Not as low as they are now, but down to within 1 times the upper limit. My enzymes had been slightly elevated almost consistently in blood work, but my endo (who is well aware of what I'm on) passed it off as 'normal for an athlete', where liver enzymes can elevate simply from heavy, intense lifting, something common research supports.

My body hates superdrol, I can't imagine with tren omg I'd be pissing orange juice.. I like low dose ibuprofen but not too high

Dam 800mg that's what the hospital sent me home with after they cut my stomach open from sternum to under the belly button. Nice write up though

800mg's prior to lifting is way too high, no wonder you have been having issues - thats four 200mg tabs!. I use 50mg's if my shoulders are Very sore prior to lifting and that's maximum.

whiteNcrispy's picture

As stated above, that was approved by my doctors. I normally get the line of "for a guy your size, 800 mgs is a standard dose".

This fuc**** stuff ruined my stomach!

Yeah aspirin is harsh stomach ulcers fast baby aspirin is safe for daily consumption though

I stopped taking baby aspirins after I tore my bicep a couple years back. The internal bleeding from the tear turned my entire arm purple, shoulder to hand, which was no doubt a result of the aspirin thinning my blood. My BP is on point though, and even on orals stays below 120/70 since I got a CPAP. I've been as low as 110/60 on orals, which historically raised my BP significantly. I also do therapeutic blood dumps every three months.
