You got caught up in a "promo for review scam" - actually, you were complicate in the scam.
CENSORED led you on by saying he'll let you participate if you review for a previous order he and you both know you never made. And you, fairly consistent with your reviews, suddenly "remembered" you needed to write one for him.

LISTEN UP EVERYONE. If you are joining a promo and a source leads you on to leave a review as a condition to join. He and you are complicit in making fake reviews for gear. IT IS OK to reward loyal customers and ask you to point to a review you posted already. But that review better be dated before a promo is launched or even rumored about in the SI pages.

Personally, I don't know why anyone would want to do do business with a source who is obviously trying to rig his rankings. Never once have I gone into a grocery store and walk up to the Jimmy Dean sampler lady and be told I need to buy the sausage before I can sample the sausage.
